This is where I was a few weeks ago. Since then, I've gotten more oil and filters.

I probably have as much T6 as you do but since I need 14 quarts per oil change on my 6.7 Powerstroke I’m thinking I should pick up a few more gallons!!

On another note what are your thoughts on trying to find something like Valvoline Restore & Protect for diesels? I don’t know if there is such a product but since diesels are inherently “dirtier” it might make sense to find such a product in higher mileage trucks…

My 2015 Ram Ecodiesel takes 10.5 quarts from the factory, but I added a deep oil pan, so it now takes about 11.5 quarts.

I would definitely buy more Rotella T6 if you can find it. The word is getting out, so people are buying in bulk. Shell has already told Costco and Walmart that they will no longer be sending shipments to their stores.

I'm now switching all of my oils to Amsoil. Amsoil has such a strong detergent package that it will keep your diesel engines super clean. Once my Rotella T6 is used up, then I'll be switching to Amsoil Signature Series 5W-40.

A buddy of mine runs Amsoil Signature Series 5W-40 in his 2015 EcoDiesel. He just turned 606,666 miles. Rotella is a good oil, but Amsoil is inherently better in just about every way.

School me on oil. I’ve been using Rotella T6 5-40 on my 1st gen eco diesel.
What’s wrong with using it on this 2022 eco diesel?

In short, Stellantis doesn't seem to think that Rotella T6 can handle the high temperatures/pressures at the turbo. Back when the Gen 3 EcoDiesel was new, they pulled a turbo off a test mule. Below is the image. They took those photos and put them into a MasterTech video to show dealer techs why they should not be using Rotella T6 like in the previous Gen EcoDiesel.

Unfortunately, we don't have that information. Nor do we know for sure what oil they were using. We just know that Stellantis changed the oil spec due to deposits forming in the turbo.

We've been told by insiders that VM Motori was putting some of their test mules in boats since that was the fastest and most economical way to put a lot of hours on the engines.

We're seeing very few engine failures, so I don't know anyone who has been able to inspect a high mileage turbo.

We have one guy who runs commercially in his 2022 Ram. He logs between 6,000 - 9,000 miles per month. He's running Amsoil Signature Series 5W-40, which is more inline of Rotella T6 in terms of the AP CK-4 specification. It will be interesting to see how his engine/turbo holds up.

For now, Amsoil MS 5W-40 has proven to be the best oil for the Gen 3 engine in terms of shear, wear metals, and interval.
