Yep. If I'm getting there, I have to survive being there. If I survive being there, I have to return home.

Planning. Planning. Planning. Execution.
There is no hope on the trail. Only preparedness, will to accomplish, and hopefully a good set of the correct tools.

That there sounds like a poster, a T-shirt or a decal across your rear window or tailgate. 👍

I already have the "Prepare to Self-Rescue" shirt.

And its just best to assume that every Alaskan you see is armed to the teeth at all times.

Ever seen a Catholic priest in a bar with a blue woolen shirt and a 10mm on his hip and it not be a part of a lame joke? I have. 11am, March 13th, 2019. Long Branch Saloon in Anchorage.

God, I love this place.

Drove to Next Venture Motorsports and back. There last night. Home today. As always they’re amazing folks to work with. Picked up my new rock sliders. They’ll get installed after the steel is finished. More on that later. Tyler also helped me install the rocker armor I got from them a few months ago. Now that the jeep is repaired and they’ve been painted. They need touch up paint as the body shop was absolutely horrible at everything they did, but they still look amazing. The body shop thing will maybe be another thread, but I’m not clogging this one up.

I can’t wait to get the sliders on and take this thing wheeling again. It’s been way too long.

The P in the fender emblem was in the way. But I’d reinstalled them years ago, and not in the stock location. Slightly different. So I pulled it. I’ll install a new one, positioned to look good with the rocker armor.

Did you get the full Monty with the plastic liner and everything? Snap some shots of those suckers before they go on. I’ve looked at Next Venture pretty hard.

Very. They’re crazy. Once I get them ready for install, I think I’ll be happy I have a forklift and a crane.
If you don’t have access to all that try a transmission jack. I’ve used those a few times to get sliders and skids to sit where I want them for installing. Nice flat surface that’s adjustable.

We have a tiny tractor with forks. Obviously I can lift them, but as you said, positioning for install is different than moving them around the garage.

I used a milk crate and some 2x6s to put mine on. Since my youngest has moved out, I have to be crafty instead of using slave labor.
