Anyone who works with or in a call center knows how this goes... team lead gets everyone to huddle up and they discuss how they want to talk callers off the phone when the callers are upset. These people supporting the chat sessions are falling back on those same directives. I think Sarah may have just gotten off a chat with someone complaining about their Mojito!Punk'nSting build being stuck in some other status, and fell back on the "late availability" crutch for the manual trans chat as well.

The bottom line for those of us in this waiting room is that the trucks will come when they come. Yeah, it sucks not knowing, and I'm in the group of folks who are trying to manage a lease return amongst all of this, so I get the implications of timing and riding bikes to work/school. I intend to keep this truck for a long time, and I'm going to wait this out to make sure I get the spec I want. Anyone can buy off the lot if they want an auto trans. The stick in these trucks will make them all the more special IMO, both for fun of use and now the rarity of any units so equipped.

Same boat as everyone and checked with Jeep Chat earlier. 5/2 order date, D status. My SA was hoping end of month but sounds beyond optimistic.

Did I see that the primary reason for the lower tow rating on the MT was longevity of part vs. AT and not safety? Can anyone confirm that (hopefully not too OT).

Okay now I have to throw the BS flag.
(6/8/2019, 7:21:43 PM): Pre-production (D1) 005 days in this status

Me (6/20/2019, 5:26:59 PM): Can you tell me how long my order has been in D1 status?
ASHLEA (6/20/2019, 5:27:28 PM): 7 days.

5 Days in D1 on the 8th and 7 Days on the 20th. What the @#$%$!

I know most people drive automatic and that’s why they charge an extra 2,000. I was just referring to the fact that the auto tran is the OPTION. MT is the standard on this vehicle. Therefore we should not be waiting all this time. Definitely respect the people that went with the auto Tran. I’m just an angry MT guy and I haven’t even been waiting that long
Yeah, I can see that is how it appears, but the auto is clearly not the option. The manual is. They will make so many more automatics than they will manuals, especially considering the expert reviews on the MT.

Looks like I am still D1 tomorrow would be day 7

Is it just me or does that sound like D status? I get the same response. I thought D1 came with a ship date?

I thought so too. That's why I asked for the status code. I'm sure they are using canned responses. Last Friday I was told
"Chelee (6/14/2019, 2:59:28 PM): Hi Josh thank you for holding. Our resources show that all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon."

Also aligned with what my dear had emailed me.

"Your 2020 Gladiator has an assigned build date of 6/26/19. I will update you once I know more. It usually takes a few days after that date. "

But hearing people have moved from D to D1 back to D. I want to see how my progress is being tracked. Especially since it seems to be moving fairly quick compared to others.

I wonder if being able to check your build status (however accurate or inaccurate) mentally does more harm than good. It's like a very expensive and less accurate version of the Dominoes Pizza Tracker.

WTF do you mean my pizza is back at store being "rebaked" after it was in delivery status?

Has anyone gotten any real resolution from chats and up channeling long status times?

I just found out today that my MT Rubicon finally has a VIN. It's only 6 days short of a month since the order was placed. Does anyone know of a better way to track an order? I tried the one that comes up when you search for a tracker, but it says my nickname is invalid and won't let me search via the VIN. It's really a shame we're being punished for ordering a stick shift. At least, that's what it feels like.

I decided to check out the JL wrangler forum to see if there were any manual transmission delays during there launch. I did not see any posts of that nature so based off that hopefully our builds will be starting shortly and some of the 1st orders will be rolling off the assembly line soon.

For me I believe so, there’s really not much info gained or anything you can do it seems. The only positive I can see is maybe it gives FCA some data on what or what not they are doing correctly. Whether they care, who knows?

From what I gather you will receive some e-mail updates as your Jeep moves to certain points with that tracker. If you put your VIN in it will give you limited updates. They're not as specific as Jeep chat.

After today's chat i'm not sure what to think about whether manuals are delayed. Doesn't make sense to delay them based solely on revenue, as i got upgrades including leather seats on my Rubicon. Anyway, this from today hearkens back to the phone call i got last week saying standard rear steel bumper is to blame:
***
Me (6/21/2019, 8:42:40 AM): Is it true that no gladiators have yet been built with the standard manual transmission, other than demos?
Mathew (6/21/2019, 8:43:17 AM): I believe so David.
Me (6/21/2019, 8:43:55 AM): just to clarify, you believe that is true? that no manuals have been built?
Mathew (6/21/2019, 8:44:12 AM): One moment please, and let me see if I can find out more information.
Mathew (6/21/2019, 8:49:23 AM): Thank you for waiting David. I did look into this further, and the manual's are being built, but I did find out that the Rubicons with the steel bumpers have a bit of a delay, but they should start being built in the next few weeks.
Me (6/21/2019, 8:50:17 AM): to clarify further, is that the standard rear steel bumper, or the optional front steel bumper, that is causing the delay?
Mathew (6/21/2019, 8:51:12 AM): Both of the steel bumpers.
Me (6/21/2019, 8:51:38 AM): ok thank you

Live chat with Randy today....

What the system shows is that your 2020 Gladiator Rubicon is that
• Order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process.
• The parts required to build the vehicle are being scheduled and as soon as they available and ready, order will be scheduled for build.
• Most orders are scheduled for build within 30 days after reaching this stage.
There is no other information showing at this time.

D status for 39 days.

My dealer here in Canada will FINALLY officially put in my order for my Rubicon manual build. BUT, I cannot order the steel bumper or the bluetooth speaker (I know, its frivolous, but my wife went gaga over the idea), the boxes are just greyed out and they can't figure out why. I'm guessing its that there is simply no availability!

Neither of these options are deal breakers, but annoying! i really wanted that steel bumper, and its going to cost a lot more aftermarket, because now I'm essentially buying/paying for a plastic bumper that I don't even want. And of course I can't have the trailer brake controller, but thats a whole other kettle...

Why didn't they have their shit together with this whole situation? I've never had to work so hard for a company to take my money!

Get ready for a long wait, we have been waiting for over 30 days without our orders not hitting the assembly line.

Welcome to D status purgatory.
