My JT is still on order, but I understand the best way to disable the auto start/stop without warning light is to get a manual transmission.

Then simply don’t come to a stop while in neutral with the clutch released; stop at lights with the clutch pressed in.
My habit is clutch depressed, in first gear, usually foot off brake, and I've noticed my stop-start rarely engages. Haven't quite figured out what I do differently that causes it to engage.

The book answer is: for it to work, be in neutral below 2mph with the clutch fully released. Page 315 in the manual.

no,

No, mine was with the plastic version..... I planned on replacing the bumper anyway so did not order the steel one..... The factory skid plate works well with my aftermarket bumper.....
To be clear (correct me if you disagree, please): You had a factory plastic bumper, kept the factory steel skid plate for the plastic bumper, and it works fine with your aftermarket bumper, right?

I had almost the same situation, with a much different outcome: A factory plastic bumper with a factory steel skid plate for the plastic bumper, but it DID NOT fit with the factory steel bumper I later swapped. I have a Rubi and did have the correct mounting plates for the factory steel skid plate, but my new (on order) skid plate has five bolts across the front of it to mount it to the bottom of the bumper. You can see the difference clearly in this image (and I imagine understand why it does provide some strength to the winch) ...

Mounted a Molle Platform Solutions rack to the forward overhead area of my Gladiator. Dry fitted the comm gear, then drilled and finished the mechanical install for all of it. Still to be done: Wiring, antenna install and cabling. Includes a 2M/70CM ham radio (KG5LXN, general class, in case your'e interested), GMRS (WREN924), and CB radio ...

Dry fit to figure out where to mount each piece. Turns out the speaker wouldn't mount with those bolts in the image, so I modified a bracket to mount it ...

If you stop with trans in neutral, foot off clutch it should initiate the stop-start. I find that the engine has started by the time the clutch pedal is depressed far enough to put in gear. It seems to start at the slightest depression/ movement of the clutch pedal. It definitely takes some getting used to. I keep forgetting and my first thought is the engine has stalled if I’m not thinking about it as I come to a stop!

That isn't going to happen while driving for me. BTW, my manual only has about 250 pages or so. Go figure.

Correct sir! Seems like there are a few versions of the skid plate. I think the 5 bolt one is for the steel bumper so it ties them all together......

Exactly 5 hours... so, what's that, 15 beers? IDK, dog kept stealing swigs. Well, that's what I told the wife anyways.
Yep just about what it took me with hand tools - no dog help here either. I added a exterior short extension to keep access to the power outlet

Hi. . . your "daily driver" is coming along Very Nicely . :) . Have you come up with a firm plan for a Bed Cover ?
I think I know where I'm going with it, wether it be on a Gator Glad. or "maybe" a RAM 1500 w/ORP; so I can "tent-it" inside on a BedRug - the RSI CanopyCap above . . . so far, but I'm always looking !? (sorry for the bad sentence structure, being lazy this morning). Really looking 4x4-ward to that 1st Gobi Trip next year.
ps; looks like your in sunny Cali. - gotta be snowy in Oki. by now !
FlyFInaticLou wishing you & yours a Merry Christmas.

...and the mods keep happening. Today, N-Fab Podium side steps.

Oh, and if anyone is interested in buying my Mopar Rock Rails take offs, I just listed them on the buy-sell pages.

Weather here in OK has been cool in the mornings, but warming up nicely during the day (50s is nice to us--I know my San Diego resident parents would be bundled up in the heavy winter gear, LOL).

Right now I have the OEM tonneau cover on the bed. If Bestop comes out with the full canvas topper, I plan to get that. I expect they will since they bought the company that makes it for other vehicles. I'm toying with the idea of using that in lieu of a ground tent. At least maybe in bad situations like what we ran into at Cleopatra's Chair a couple years ago (in case anyone is puzzled by that reference, 6:55 if not forwarded automatically) ...
