it is just the factory steel bumper with the end caps removed and a mopar winch guard added.
That's exactly what i thought it was-- I'm a huge fan of the stubbies--just had to make sure.

Thanks for the input!

yes! I want one but still want bed cover too... does that one allow use of Ton cover?
They sent me the tonneau mounts.
(I think they had to as I'm pretty sure this is the Tacoma bar and they needed to add height for the Gladiator)
It will NOT work with the MOPAR Tonneau or any that go over the rail.
I took my MOPAR off and just ordered a Tyger that sits ON the rail.

Just ordered a set of wheels for mine. 50% off at 4wd and 4 wheel parts til the 31st. 20x10s -6 offset for 139$ a wheel. Good price I thought and should give me the look I’m after. Won’t be putting them on til the spring unless someone is interested in some launch edition wheels and tires. Lol

Warn VR EVO 10-S install. At least the cables are routed and it works. Still need to rig a bracket for the power interrupt solenoid under the hood and wire that to an Aux switch.

Is that the Ace Stubby? How do you like it? How was the install?

Heh, I owe @O|||||O for blazing the Ace trail in this thread:
BUMPERS!

And @Chaimstein for the follow on comments in the same thread. I bought a 5/8" ti drill bit and borrowed a neighbor's 1/2" drill motor to open up the frame holes to mount the Ace. The inner brackets of the stock fender mount get in the way of the winch tray so you end up leaving those off, and there is a notch you have to cut out in extra metal attached to the frame to make room for the winch tray. It's easy with a angle grinder and cutoff wheel, might take a minute with a hacksaw.

I found the Ace too tight front-to-back at first for the Warn VR EVO 10-s when re-mounting the stock halogen fogs. The height adjuster on those fogs sticks way back to a point, and happens to contact a "fin" on the Warn winch. And the EVO winch wiring comes out the rear of the control box instead of the side which did not help any. Ultimately the winch does fit, had to be completely pressed against the grille to align holes with the Ace winch plate. I probably could have squeezed it in contacting the stock fogs, but I replaced the fogs with Lifetime LED fogs for JK, pretty reasonable at $89 with Christmas sale. These are the same ones shown in the pic of Gladiator on Ace's website.

This is all typical jeep-mod DIY hurdle territory and overall I am very happy with the result. To Ace Engineering's credit, they are super responsive. I emailed them after-hours eastern time on a Friday and had a call back from AJ in their tech department in maybe an hour. Nick and AJ from Ace were very helpful and AJ even sent me the link for the fogs that they used. I think anything lower profile than the mopar fogs should make it though. Or a less chubby or "tactical" looking winch.

Note the steel Rubicon skid that protects the sway disconnect does not play well with the Ace bumper. So that is left off as well. It's a completely different style though anyway, rounded look where the Ace is angular. Expect a new skid product in the next few weeks announced from Ace to cover that territory from what they tell me.

Are you able to use the mirrors when driving at highway speeds?
I'm pretty sure I have these same mirrors. I've used them on the highway and as shipped, they're usable, but could be improved. They come with 4 washers for each side, 2 are some sort of plastic, to protect the paint I assume and 2 are metal. The problem I had is if you tightened them down enough to stay still, the plastic deforms. My plan is to take another set of metal washers and try dipping them in something like plasti dip. I think using the coated metal would make them work much better.

Of course they plan to come out with one now. I just installed the skid from MORE a couple weeks ago. It fits great though and I'm actually really happy with how it looks. No pictures yet.
