Disagree - should blow the temp REQUIRED to get to the temp you set, then should throttle back to a temp that will maintain your set temperature.
Disagree- On “auto” it should do as you described. On manual should blow the actual temperature that is set.

Auto button on= Do what it takes to bring the cabin to the temperature set. This could very greatly depending on temperature in the cabin

Auto off= should blow the exact temperature I have set. This was I’m having an issue with. On high, blows high heat all the way until 61/60. Then bring it to max ac, I can then set to 72 and sometimes get room temperature air.

I think even on manual that it’s trying to get to the set temp. You input the temp and fan speed. So once it gets to the set temp it doesn’t continue blowing at the max output but drops to set temp and maintains the fan speed you selected. I’m no HVAC expert. This is just what I have experienced with mine on manual.

What the difference between auto and manual then? Both of our 18 Honda’s and my 16 4Runner worked correctly- auto brought the cabin temp to the set temp, manual (auto button off) blows the exact temp that is set. Maybe the auto button is faulty or the air blend door is faulty in manual mode?

I’m thinking the difference is the auto manages the fan as well so you don’t feel the cooler air blowing because the fan throttles back. If auto is still blowing at high speed then that may be the problem. I’ll have to play with auto to see if mine does this.

I'm just waiting for the recall. This issue is all over the place, more shocked that Jeep has not addressed it yet, than it actually happening. FIX IT. ...on a side note, i'm, also seeing my outside temp gauge gets stuck for several minutes, 5-10? before it finally hits the correct temp. 56 degrees in the early morning, go to work out, couple hours later it's now low 70's (Houston), ...took almost 10 minutes, but watched the 56 jump to 69 in a matter of seconds. I wonder if these issues are related.

After seeing this thread I noticed mine does this too. I would bet it is a poor design flaw and most if not all have this problem. I guess I will wait like everyone else for Jeep to care.

blowing hot air when set at 68 is not normal. Tech just had no answer, other than the (now standard), "that's normal", so they don't accept having to document the problem.
mine doing same and its aggravating AF!

please do post if you find any relevant TSB.

like most - I am avoiding the dreaded service department visit until I cannot take it any longer.

makes no sense. Name a car you have owned that blows extreme heat out of the vents at desired temperature of 63 degrees.

The fastest resolution is to take this thread to the general discussion. That is where future buyers ask their questions. A drop in sales with encourage Jeep to address the heater problem

I would say mine has been a little different than most of these issues I am reading. Mine seems to heat up to about the temp I am looking to set it to...then it starts blowing cold air. Almost like ambient air is coming in from outside. So if I set it to 73....it gets up to temp just fine...then boom, it's chilly air the rest of the time. Normally I wouldn't worry about it...but the temp was in the teens here the last few days and I noticed that just after it hit temp things would start getting cold pretty instantly and I couldn't get the temp to blow hot air for over 5-7 minutes.

It's about the same as the Canyon the JT replaced worked. There was no full manual mode for the A/C where LO is far to the blue, HI is far to the red and everything else was in between. No matter what it was adjusting the blend door to try and get the cabin to the set temperature. If it was 30 degrees when I got in and had it set at 63, it would blow hot air trying to warm it up to 63 degrees. Same in the summer, if it was 110 and it was set on 80, it'd blow cool air trying to cool it down to 80. Not saying it's good or bad, just seems to be the trend cars are following these days. Though, if it's warmer than that in the cabin and it's still blowing hot then there's definitely a problem in the logic somewhere. These auto systems also take into account outside temperature and sun load so there's more to what it's doing than cabin temperature.

I’m just wondering how many trucks would they have to take back under the lemon law to get them to actually fix this?
Unless a legal case against safety or substantial loss of vehicle value can be pushed through, Lemon Law is not going to be the White Knight many think it is.

You actually believe that a forum will impact sales - and that FCA will see or feel it? Really?
And no, future buyers search and ask and dig. Taking a discussion to another place in the forum won't make it seen any more or less by prospective buyers.
Sound like anger wanting to strike back?

Seriously, the number of people who come here before buying is tiny, minuscule, even.

Now THAT sounds more like mine!
We both noticed it today - it was cold and windy, but I have noticed in the past that after driving it for so long, it cools off inside. It's like once it reaches temp, it doesn't try to keep it there.
I'm not sure it's a problem, so I'm watching, reading, comparing, tossing out there how mine is and will go from there.
Normally my drives are not over 30 minutes in the winter - today was longer, an hour, and we noticed after half of our journey it was cooling off- my wife even said "I feel cold air" as she tried to manipulate the climate controls to get it better.
Your description is very similar to mine.
We've started putting it at 71 or 72 as if we put it at our normal 69 or 70 then it isn't as warm inside by the time we start feeling the cooler air.
