295/70/17 Yokohama Geolander M/T’s (34x12) on stock Sport max tow rims and air dams in place. No rubbing in average street use but I am installing a leveling kit and removing the air dams for clearance when flexing.

Based on this thread and other feedback previously I did the LT285/70R17s on our Max Tow Sport.

I've run multiple sets of BFG ATs, Cooper AT3s, and Bridgestone AT Revos on past Jeeps and decided to try something new in a "hybrid" with the Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP (purchased and installed through 4 Wheel Parts). Really loving the size on the unlifted Sport S...fills the wheelwells up nicely and keeps things reasonable for intended towing usage.

Milestar Patagonias in 285 with no lift on a Max Tow with standard rims ... I don't think it needs a lift. The only thing I will do later is to paint the rims black.

I know this thread is older, but I did so much research, video watching, phone calling, trying to figure out if 33's would fit on my sport S with the Launch Edition wheels and they did. Many big store tire places said no to the 285/70/17 but they work just fine! No lift, no max tow, everything stock.

Nice. I have the exact same JT and just ordered 17x9 Black Rhino Overlands and Wildpeak AT/3s in 285/75/17. I did a 1.5" level kit up front to compensate for 34s though. Does your rear still have plenty of room? Looks like it.

Welcome to the forums. Even though the thread was started a while ago it still gets updated. Usually there's someone that has to go and start a brand new thread. I'm surprised that tire places told you you can't go higher on tire size. Must be a California-thing. Here in PA everyone and their brother drives a truck or SUV that's lifted with big tires. Your upgrade looks good.
