Nice! Yeah I am thinking I won't put my on. I just can't get past the overhang behind the rear seats when the rear window is out. On my past 4 Jeeps I usually pull the hard top off and just keep the bikini top on hand in case of rain.

Bestop claimed to have the bikini coming out in early June. I've since checked back and gotten no reply on an ask for updates. Thinking it may have gotten pushed back :(
I want to keep my hard top off as much as possible me and I’m not able to lift it on/off myself, so I’m worried about getting caught in rain (I’m in SoCal so won’t happen often but just in case...lol)
Which top did you use that keeps it safe in unexpected rain?

IMO... the only true way to keep yourself covered is to get an oem soft top.

I've run Bestop tops for years on several different Jeep models. Bestop tops beat OEM in most cases, so much so that they helped design some of the current OEM tops. I'm holding out for a TrekTop for the Gladiator. It's a frameless top and by far the best solution for those with a hard top, who want to add a summer soft top. @Bestop please, please, please work on a TrekTop for the Gladiator. :)

Its not about being 100% covered. I've ran bikini tops only during summer for years and been caught up in some nasty rain. It keeps the majority of the inside and the passengers dry. It is a Jeep after all.....rain isn't going to kill it.

I've got one and it failed for me. Fitment is not good and they use snaps to hold the top together. The back snaps came off the first time I went over 60 mph. The only good news is the back straps have a loop, so I was able to use paracord to tie down the back (IMHO the way it should have been designed in the first place, with a strap).

IMHO it needs a few things to make it the solution you're looking for:
1. There are front straps that are way too short. I ended up using bungee cords to put tension on them. That needs to be fixed.
2. The top needs bows to keep water from pooling. Yes, it would increase cost, but mine caught rain in the first rain storm, which to me is a major deal breaker for a summer long solution.
3. The rear tension straps need to do away with the snaps and add nylon straps that hook to the back body lip. This would help the overall tension on the top and keep it from letting loose at higher speeds.

To me this is an ok top for day trips, so you don't get roasted sitting in the sun all day. I would not buy it again, though.

Thanks! Saves me from buying it! Have to wait for a better solution! Genuinley suprised there isn't anything better out yet!

That seems like a lot of oversight on such an expensive product.

Installed my AUX switches. Bypass cable comes in today so I can finally get them up and running.

I’ve seen a lot of amazing “do to’s” on this thread and haven’t really done much to the GCLE. Here’s to a small step towards modding.

Simple but a very good mod. I put rubberized grip tape on mine so that it covered all the painted area so I wouldn't mess it up. I have a feeling this spot in particular is prone to scratches/rusting due to the constant foot traffic. Yours looks really nice, I like the Gladiator name on it. Honestly this and my dead pedal are 2 of the nicer small and cheap mods that I feel were "essential".

Added Rubicon Wheels with MT Tires
Added MOPAR performance rock rails
Added Soft top

And took a 300 mile drive to pickup soft top, averaged 20.4 MPG on computer with the tire size set at 32".

I’m currently running topless except for a bestop sunrider... I have had many different tops over my jeeps. My favorite so far is a nx plus for JKU, and I wish bestop would make something like that... by the way I was just answering to the OP With my comment.
