Sport max tow lift recommendations

I have been reading every thread I can find. I am driving about 20k miles yearly and this is going to be a 90-95% on road vehicle. I'd like to get something a bit more geared towards being able to take some light off road trails, good solid winter performance, etc. Don't care to put 37" as it's just too much tire for what I intend to do w/ the truck. Something either 33-35". w/ 35 being max. What mild lift that includes new shocks (as stock are typically garbage to begin with) would you recommend? I'd like to level it out and enjoy the ride. Noticed several brands offer an entry spring/shock lift for under $1k. Any preferences?

You could also pick up some Rubicon take-off springs/shocks and add a leveling spacer for cheap. Seen people selling the take-offs as little as $200 and then the leveling spacer for about $100. The Rubicon suspension is great.

Looks good .... this is most likely the direction I will go. Did you notice any effect to MPG with your larger tires?

For my commute, definitely worse mileage, but I have a very hilly drive so it's constantly between 7th and 8th gear. I average 16-17 across a tank per my hand calculations. With easy back country drives, and mostly flat highways, 17-18+ is very doable.

2.5" ReadyLift SST lift kit and 315 70 17 BFG KO2 tires are a great combo. Got off-road and on road, one of the best all around tire you can buy. I put 1.75" wheel spacers on mine to give it little wider stance. I'd definitely drive it on a long trip if need be. I get about 19 MPGs and it drives as good as it did stock or better how it's sitting now.

For reference the shocks on the Max Tow and the springs are pretty decent shocks and springs. I would suggest trying to keep it as close to riding stock as possible. I had that lift kit installed and with alignment was out the door at $801 at my local shop. I haven't felt the need to add a adjustable Track bar or different steering stabilizer. The rides and drives great. I've had this lift kit installed since the jeep had 400 miles on it Currently at 8500 miles with no issues. It tracks great on the HwY. Get some take-off Rubicon shocks and front springs. Stuff a 3/4" coil spacer in with the front. I just looked at a Sport on the lot that had Rubicon take-off tires on the stock wheels- looked really stout. Otherwise, Kenda makes a 35x10.50/R17 tire that should be about perfect.

Stock suspension on mine, 255-80-17E Falken AT3W which are 33.1" tall. No loss in gas mpg compared to the stock tires.

Is that what they measure on the Jeep? I have never saw a tire measure it's specs mounted

33.1 is the spec height. I get a loaded radius of 16" from middle of center cap to ground. In comparison, the stock 255-75-17 KM's on my JKUR spec'ed 32.1" and had loaded radius 15.25".

Except Mopar/Jeep does not provide how much decrease in payload/towing you have because of the changed suspension. So there goes your truck abilities. I'd estimate because of the springs used you have Rubicon numbers: 1100lbs payload.

I had 2000 lbs of topsoil in the bed of it and it just leveled the truck out. I doubt it has lost any real ability. Nobody will ever know unless Jeep releases numbers. Door sticker says what it says.

MetalCloak told me that they tested their suspension with a 1600lbs pallet in the back. The truck drove on the bumpstops but it drove fine. I'll see if I can find the email.

Yes, lots of folks have put a literal ton of stuff in their beds, and others have exceeded their payload by close to 1000lbs. It does not mean it is the smart thing to do and I foresee warranty issues when things break prematurely. Jeep told me that the lifts pretty much make hauling heavy stuff a voiding of warranty because they are not rated for the same as a stock Max Tow payload. How much it decrease they could not say. It's a remote "what if", but still something I like to look out for. And of course the rear axle's gross weight rating is pretty high at 3750lbs

Did it level out the truck with the kit and loaded down? Because I accidentally put 2000lbs of mulch in mine and it did way more then make it level
