What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Deleted member 31576

Would you have stayed stock now knowing what you do?
No. But I would’ve probably asked on here first.

It’s my wife’s truck. I don’t mind the sound. I just expected something a little more like the video on YouTube.

I have similar thoughts. I had a F150 with deep dual exhaust, put a flowmaster cat back on my JT and it reminds me a little of a rice burner. When you step on it, sounds ok, but just normal exceleration it's a little too high pitched for me. It is cool when you get a little gurgel upon braking though.
EXACTLY. I had a flow master put on my Tundra. Deep and loud. I told my wife the same thing - sounded like a rice burner. But my son bought it for her and she likes it.

Adjusted the passenger side front door. My hard top is noticeably louder than my JK hard top was. I took it in and got the typical, it’s a Jeep thing response. They all do that, blah, blah, blah. I even pointed out that it’s clearly louder on the passenger side than the driver’s side. I pointed out that there’s no way that you could see what I’m talking about unless someone sits on the passenger side. Anyway, I’ve been studying the door seals and trim and stuff looking for anything different on the passenger side. I couldn’t find anything except the passenger side front door isn’t adjusted quite flush with the body like the drivers side. It’s about 1/8” out from flush and the drivers side is about 1/8” in. I adjusted them the same and the striker for the latch in a little bit too. The door still closes easily, but feels a little more solid when you close it.

I haven’t driven it on the hwy yet, it normally gets loud over 65 mph, but I hope it helps and I don’t have to take it back to the dealership again with likely no results.

Edit: I just read a thread on here about Freedom panel alignment. I noticed that my passenger side panel was slightly further back than the driver’s side so I adjusted the latch. They are even now. None of this can hurt so fingers crossed.

Dealer called me today and said the Mopar Big Brake kit appears to be a bust. Said the rotors are actually smaller than stock. Said the calipers have no additional pistons either. We were all a bit confused about how it can offer MORE stopping power under those circumstances?! They are advising against the install. Anyone else had this upgrade yet?

Sounds like more Mopar Common Core education system engineering at work...

First, lets give the Jeep model that can only tow 3,500 lbs. max the 475/475 6.4 hemi...Instead of the 7,000 lbs. tow rated Jeep vehicle (JTR), and now their [Not so] Big Brake Kit is even smaller than stock JT brakes...

This shit gets funnier by the day. And by funnier, I mean retarded.

Yeah, I am pretty irritated about it. My brakes SUCK when I haul anything over 3500 lbs. Next option is like 4k with Woodward or Brembo. Yeesh!!

The dealer has been great about it....and said we could give it a try but once they go on....Im paying the bill so its like....wth do I do. Give them a try and then take it up with FCA if they suck?!

If the stock JTR brakes don't work well-enough for you, I wouldn't dick-around with Mopar shit. Suck it up with your wallet, and pull out the big guns, and go Brembo 6-pistons and oversized rotors.

Yeah, tough pill to swallow. Was hoping someone here might have done the kit and had positive or negative feedback. If there is truly no size up though, the kit is trash.

It actually did seem to make a difference. I even made a few calls when driving on the interstate and asked if it sounded quieter and the responses were yes. Still need to get a headliner though. It would help some with the noise and it’s ridiculously hot inside on 90+ degree days and takes a long time to cool down inside. It’s not my ac, it works great.

It’s ridiculous that the dealership wouldn’t even try adjusting things though...

Man, I don't see how yall in the big cities run around doorless and topless without worrying about someone stealing your shit... I live in the middle of nowhere, and I still leave my doors on, top on, and windows up, and doors locked at all times when I'm not in the vehicle or parking at someone's house that I know is a safe area.
