I’m running 37’s. 16MPG around town and 22MPG on the hwy. We’re also at 6,000’ and it goes like a scalded cat.

I also see you’ve the 6spd. Yes, 3rd gear is the fun gear, but your experience will be a lot different than if it had the 8spd auto. I’ve also a 2DR JLR 6spd and I get 20MPG. Offroad it is a beast, on road, tame as a puppy, but wouldn’t keep up with our JTR in a drag race.
Same setup here, 37s on 2.5" with the tazer correcting the speed. It is what it is, I just wish Jeep would put a V8 in these things already. I'm sure I'll get better mpgs on a road trip down south as all the highways near me are very hilly and I drive 80-85.

Earlier today I was in 4th going 35 up a slight incline and decided to stomp it... And continued doing 35.

So...you did not manually downshift...with your manual transmission...

That's probably what it is. The manual transmission and 6spd. I got the 8spd auto and it does great. I even use the manual shifter occasionally. I don't know, I don't mine the power, it seems pretty sufficient for me, definitely when compared to my old 2010 JKU. They aren't full size trucks.

I'll tell you stock that 6th gear is borderline useless, and if you want to overtake on the highway you're going down to 3rd gear to do it. I'll throw a procharger on it at some point to solve the power problem. I love the manual driving around town, but downshifting three gears to overtake is pretty nuts.

I had that problem with a '14 JKU, but it had 3.21 rear end with a 6Spd. My '18 JKU with 3.73 and 6Spd really wasn't an issue. Had to downshift, yes, but never down to 3rd.

This thing is a rubi so its on 4.10's, but I may have to go higher one day - pretty easy to smoke the clutch when trying to gingerly move my boat around on the trailer.

With all this said, though, I absolutely love my truck... if that wasn't clear.

Before putting on the 37's and 20's on today...I was averaging around 11.3-11.5 (very quick trips to the store up the road, beer runs, etc...No long distance trips). And after installing my new tires and wheels today, I'm noticing it's up around 12.5... Most-iikely it was over-geard for the stock 285/70r17 WP M/T's for highway driving (55 & up MPH zones), which is most of what's around me.

Personally, I believe these Gladiators should have come with 35x10.50's or 315/70r17's from the factory... The 285/70r17's are just way too small for a truck this size. Personal opinion.

Stock 3.6 8 speed with Max tow 4.10 gears.

Bf Goodrich 35x12.5r17 ko2 all terrains running 28psi cold 31psi hot.

So far hilly area and 16.8 mixed. Around 18.5 or so flat highway.

Speedo set to within a .25 mph with a taser and GPS.

My old 2 door 6 speed 3.6l JK on 35s ran about 17mpg highway so the 8 speed and 4.10s are much better.

average of my last 9 tanks of fuel (3500kms/2200miles)
6-speed, 3:73 (28 lb wheels/62 lb tires)
90% city, 10% highway
mopar lift on 35's (315 duratracs on mickey thompson 17x9 classic III's)
speedo corrected
hand calculated

15.3 l/100km (for Canadians)
15.4 mpg (for Americans)

Computer Error Average = 2% (this is what the display tells you you've gotten on the trip meter vs actual hand calculated, it's been as high as 4.42% off, as low as 0.27% off)

Edit, i did one more tank for a total of 10 tanks of fuel, i had a bit of hwy additional on this one, it brought the average down to 15.2 l/100km or 15.5 mpg, average kms per tank 391, average liters per tank 59.

That will be the last of that set up. I installed 37's on stock wheels after that tank and 4.88's go in next week. So will duplicate the findings for that combo and see what the differences will be. Can sure feel the difference while it's still 3.73's...it's a dog, plenty of pep on the 35's. ;)

I'm averaging about 23-24 MPG with factory tires 4:10 Max Tow have got up to 26.4 MPG. With a note that the factory setting is reading a 1 MPH over actually speed / odometer.... Checked with GPS and radar units.

I have over 150,000 kms on pentastar since 2014 now, and my ram 8-spd was incredible on gas for a 5300 lb good aero and stick height and stock skinny 31’s.

There was one time I saw a fuel mileage rating about 25 mpg (9.3 l/100km) and that was where the speed limits for the whole region didn’t exceed 80-90 km/h (55-56 mph) yet was all highway and I was empty. It was possibly the most ideal conditions and discipline driving I’ve ever had in my life.

To tell me Jeep gladiators are pulling down this kind of mpg in normal everyday use when I own one and have the ram that kicks it’s ass before that? Ya...I’m buyin it boys.

So far in 16,000 kms on my gladiator with gps corrected speedo at 80 mph the computer has averaged 2.3% optimistic numbers...I hand calculated every single tank. I am getting exactly what I expect and even better for my 37’s on 4.88’s now but ran 35’s and 37’s for the bulk of it on 3.73,s until recently.

The best a JT will do on the highway, stock, at real 75 mph, hand calculated and corrected will be in the 11 l/100km range, I would suspect with discipline low 11’s at best...21 mpg. I’d wager though closer to 12 l/100km would be more common(19 mpg).

these 25/26 must be running the 245 wide tires stock height at grandpa velocity...there’s no other way a pentastar is gonna beat it’s ratings like that
