I may or may not pull mine. It will all depend on timing of when the service is v/s my work scheduleMy plan is to remove the Synergy brace then reinstall when completed. I don't want any issues with the install.

I would ask, “where exactly in the TSB does it state my vehicle is not impacted?” Followed by, “when I read the TSB it mentioned nothing about a VIN number.” “Can you please point out to me how you can tell I am not impacted by my VIN number?”I called 2 dealerships today. Both asked me for my vin, then said that I didn't qualify for any fixes and that my jeep is up to date. Meanwhile I have 2 inches of play and the damn thing is uncontrollable over 65. But of course it's a jeep thing these dealers say.
I feel like a lottery winner!!
I picked up mine yesterday evening, got on the road and could tell instantly a difference, got to speed 45+before, it would pull right, then veer left, any road surface, NOW, NOTHING!!!
no dead spot, feeling the box bounce from right to left, then pull right, then veer left, drives like its supposed to!!!
Hold the wheel and it drives straight, its so much nicer to drive. I actually might put some miles on it,
I hope everyone that has this problem gets it repaired with minimal hassle from the dealers(service advisors) this makes everything so much better
Maybe I'll do the lift, wheels and tires now,
I walked into my dealer, talked to my service manager on Friday, dropped it Monday Picked it up Wednesday my ride was unavailable Tuesday, sorry to hear that some of you are having to wait,
This is the part I think am experiencing on my JTR - "...if the sector is too tight, it would want to be off-center as the over-center setting would be tight and it would want to move away from center in that case."I'm surprised the TSB includes pull - the only thing I can think of is that they are including more than the JT in this - and, if the sector is too tight, it would want to be off-center as the over-center setting would be tight and it would want to move away from center in that case. WEIRD.
In any case - go for it. It should steer and handle FINE - if it doesn't there's an issue and this instructs the dealer on how to fix it - and they get PAID to do it! Easy money for them, IMO. No messing around - they complete a form stating you have steering issues, they get the parts, they replace them, they submit a form to get reimbursed, done. No hassle getting paid by you, no hour spent troubleshooting, etc. A TSB should normally be an easy source of money for them if the vehicle is still under warranty.
For those that have already had the steering box replaced, can you check and confirm the new part number please?
TiA!
My son's and I have checked and note the following OEM parts:![]()
Sorry I know that's terrible but I only know where it is in my saved screenshots.
i'm happy for you. Gotta call my dealer back. They wanted me to wait until mid September....also not happy they told my wife the recall on our van wasn't ready, when its a gasket under the battery terminal...ugh!My parts were ordered first thing Monday morning, and arrived today so not sure why some are having trouble getting them...
Appointment is for next Friday.(my next day off)
Wher in NY are you from? which dealer.Update: 20Aug20
The service dept called me late in the day after I picked my truck up, and I just got around to calling them back. They admitted they did the wrong thing, there is a seperate computer update for the diesel engine, which I dont have, but they did anyway. He said the TSB requires the steering box to be replaced, and then computer updated for that. They have the box on order, should be in next week, they will call me to setup and an appt, and will address my truck according to the TSB.
I am glad they realized their mistake and reached out to me to make it right. And that I did not have to escalate the matter to FCA.
Which dealer was this? The guy at the counter circled the part they actually did, after I questioned him
