ill stick a magnet on mine and let folks know, should be here in a week!
Hope you get it then - a dealer showed me a list of trucks he'd ordered July 6th - slated to be built the last part of September.

You may not need a magnet - the aluminum steering gears are silver - because they are aluminum and not painted. Mine is very silver and obviously aluminum by the look (I deal with cast aluminum parts almost daily)
The new ones will be cast steel - and likely black phosphate. So the new ones will be black.

Just had the service done at Palmer Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. That is in GA. They were cool, and the fix seems great. I was going to add a brace, but do not think I need to now. Anyone out there do bot the service and the brace? If so would you do the brace again?

I can report that highway driving is amazing now after the TSB fix. Can't believe I drove this from Florida to Utah and back a few weeks ago. Holds and tracks the highway road. Much less effort to drive. I did not realize how much I was correcting the steering on the highway. It is very noticeable now!

I took my JT in for the update last Thurs, they recieved 1 of the 4 required bolts, so I had to leave it over night, and the fix was performed on Friday. When I picked it up in the afternoon, as many others have stated, the difference was noticable even before I pulled out of the dealership lot. No more white knuckling as I am driving down at highway speeds. I am a happy camper now.

The dealership messed up at first, but came through in the end.

I’m on day 7 now, dealership called today and asked for the original track bar and steering stabilizer. After they did the TSB and alignment they stated that it is still wandering and can’t figure out why. So I told them I had the original hardware still if needed. Anyone have any ideas on what could be the cause ?!?! 2 hour fix turned into 7 days is frustrating, but at least they are trying to fix all the issues, this JT was a nightmare to drive in the highway, it only has 600 miles, 375 miles from dealership that they did a transfer/trade too....

Well, I'm going to see how generous my dealer is going to treat me in Fargo, ND.

I, full well knowing, adjusted my steering box myself - don't regret it one bit and would do it again - but am guessing this may throw a wrench in the mix.

They are slammed today so I left them a message.

If they fix it, great, I'd love to be a poster child for things gone right and stories I can tell my grand children of how a dealer bent over backwards for me after I modified it myself.

If they don't fix it, meh, I'll be a poster child for things that didn't go %100 my way, I didn't die, I can still drive to and from work and still admire this awesome vehicle.

Fingers crossed.

Wandering or pull? Wandering can be lack of caster........... loose parts allowing the wheels to go whichever way. Also toe can cause issues, not unlike a wander.
But if they truly did an alignment (and all they can possible do is look at the numbers, change toe as needed, nothing else) then they'd know if either toe was out (and fix it) or caster was off (and try to figure out why - and order parts to correct it)

Definitely stated wandering and definitely did an alignment.

You have one good thing going for you - the DEALER TOLD YOU that it wanders!
So they'll have to work with it until resolved............

Im now on day 4 now...Dealership called me yesterday and said they test drove it, and feel as if it is still wandering on the road and want to further look into the issue.
My first, "drop truck off & fix my steering problem", appointment is Monday the 31st.

I went in before with the TSB and I asked for the SW update but nothing happened, they didn't like seeing me with a TSB.

Should I go to this appointment with the TSB printed and "customer says" point highlighted?

Thanks for sharing. Do you plan on doing the TSB for the JKU too?
I called my selling dealer service department and got the appointment person. She was nice but lock stepped, the vehicle needs to be inspected before any repair can be done. Tried to explain that I’m 50 back road miles away and wanted save a 100 mile by getting the parts on order. put on hold, came back and said sorry that’s the policy. I asked to speak to the person she spoke to. The service writer came on next and he said the same thing. I explained TSB and he pulled it up. Told me he would check with manager and call me back. That was 24 hours ago. No call. As a former service writer I understand policy but one must be able to think outside box. Will try again after the weekend.
*Update 2* I really cannot make this stuff up. So after having my JT at the dealer for a week. SA calls today to say that the TSB parts were never actually ordered. The tech never read the TSB. He just ordered a standard steering box, which didn’t correct anything. So I’m now going on week two to get the TSB implemented. Unfortunately the dealer told me and @JeepCares that the repairs were made! That’s not truthful.
What a joke.
Any idea if the 21’s will get the new steering box??

That's what I liked about my situation - I told them I think it does, my wife says it does - I was asking them to verify. An hour later "yeah, it has a problem" or words to that effect. That means that the ball is in their court now because they verified the issue, it wasn't a he-said/he-said.

I also told them that I'd be passing along that they know about this and are willing to work with it....... people complain when things go wrong or a dealer won't help and I like to counter that with "this business WILL work with this problem".
It used to be that the norm was good service, the bad was an exception.
These days it seems the not so great is the norm and the good is an exception!

This is good to know regarding the 2021 JL’s and JT’s. The buzz and mocking on the Bronco Nation forum’s when people talk about why they’re buying a Bronco is also how much better they IMAGINE it will drive because of the history of JL’s and JT’s of wandering on the road.

Lurking over at their boards you’d think they were brain washed CNN followers who don’t know about this current fix or that it is a fixable issue. Sad thing is...there are current Wrangler and Gladiator owners on the Bronco forums talking about how they dislike their Jeeps unaware of this TSB.

I told my local sales manager this will start to help sales again. Glad to know FCA has finally addressed this too. Competition from Ford is a good thing! Game is on...
