This is our third Jeep, and we really like it. We traded our a Wrangler and an F-150 for our Gladiator. We needed more space in our garage for tractor implements. Merging two vehicles into one works well. We haven't had any issues with ours other than the HVAC funkiness. That is well talked about here.

Absolutely love mine - little over 8k - zero issues, daily driver and take it offroading any chance I get.

I believe that this forum is for exchanging experience. People come here for information about how to make their car work or work better.

Simmilar situation is on almost all other car brand forums. This show how helpful are other car owners. If you want to see real happy people join facebook group where people share their photos and their joy.

New to the forum. Currently drive a 2018 Toyota Tundra and seriously considering trading for a Gladiator. I actually have a really good offer from a dealer now. But here is why I am hesitant. On this forum there is over 20 pages of complaints and issues. Are the Gladiators that bad? Should I reconsider. This will be my first Jeep. Any advise?
Yup loving mine as well. 13.5k miles, no issues; has already gotten me out of a couple tight spots that my FJ Cruiser never would have. Satisfied customer here!

This is my first Jeep. Bought in April. Just crossed over 9000 miles this weekend, and it's my daily driver. Had to talk the wife into it, but she's hooked now too! We both have enjoyed the heck out our weekends with the doors and tops off, and she's already talking about a Jeep when her lease is up on her current vehicle. I saw many of the scary posts on here as well, but so far, mine is all good, and the deeper I get into some of the threads, and my own personal experience, the more I feel I made a good decision. Nothing mechanical is bullet proof. Good luck!

Can you give me a bit more detail on your hoist in the garage? I have a plan to do this as well, and with a similar hoist. But not sure how to balance things from a single point. I appreciate whatever you can share. Thanks.

I see too potential issues with your truck just based on the photos -
A. photos 1 and 3 - it's TOO shiny.

B. Based on photo 2, your roof was installed backwards.

Otherwise, I really like the tube doors on that, it's a good look for it.
It wears all of your accessories very well.

I used two bike lifts from Menards, some pulleys and a cheap boat winch. I can now run the winch with one hand and guide the roof off or back on with the other, hardly any effort, in fact, my wife could run it.
I have "security" in that once it's up, I have loops of parachord I run from hooks in the rafters to the JT roof, through some holes in the roof and use dowels to secure it up there. That way if I get stupid with the winch or a cord slips or breaks, it's going to stay put and not move. It's a paranoia thing as the cords used will handle a lot more than the weight of the roof, and the winch will handle hundreds of pounds.

Any chance I could get you to snap a pic or two of your set up? If not, no biggie.

I have had mine for about two weeks. The gladiator has been my dream truck since it came out and I love it even more than I imagined I would. There are very few things about this truck that I don't like. The things that I don't like are very minimal things that I could tweak on my own. Its a big boy lego that I can take anywhere I want to take it and do with it anything I want to do with it.

I have a loop of the "parachord" from the bike lift hooks through the holes in the roof as shown below at the front edge, and I use the bike lift hooks under the back edge of the roof at the rear.
Of these two, one did the lifting and the other is simply a safety. It also allows me to re-rope the bike lifts, change out pulleys for better ones, whatever, and the roof just hangs there.

Jeep Gladiator Is anybody happy with the new Gladiator 20200714_165042

I have since loosened the bolt that holds the bike lift hooks to the pulley so the cord is no longer "twisted" as shown here. It's all straight and the need for the shop rag is less with it facing the right way. The cord through the heater hose is the safety.

Again, silly me - didn't realize at first I could turn that hook assembly on the pully - now the pulley is lined up better.

I have or can take BETTER current pictures.
I found that if in a hurry, I can set the roof back on and have it all in place in less than 15 minutes, I think I did about 10 minutes a couple of weeks ago.

You're welcome. If you need other pics, let me know.
I've got other pulleys that are better and will change the pulleys that redirect things to the winch one of these days, but it works just fine as it is so I'm in no hurry. Call it a poor-man's roof lift LOL
I had most of the other pulleys, bough the winch, I had the two bike lifts, my son gave me one when he moved to Florida. They've been sitting in boxes for about 6 years until I used them for this.

I have 5000 on my 20, I absolutely love it. My first Wrangler type, it drives nicer than my 2011 grand Cherokee . Like one othe person said go looking for complaints and you will find them good luck
