I should have my Mojave build done in a few weeks with 3.0s. Had to replace the upper rubber bushings and machine new steel inserts to accommodate the larger mounting bolt. I should have some decent testing within the next month

So you bought a Mojave and changed out one of the main components that make it a Mojave. Interesting.

I bought the Mojave for the reinforced frame, hydraulic bumpstops, hood, and the interior. The Mojave shocks are sweet shocks, but the 3.0s also have internal bypass and have a few inches more travel. I plan on selling the stock shocks and coils.

Holyyyyyyyyyy crap dude your rig looks sick man and thats a understatement   ,Question is that bumper from CRC? Also how do the shocks ride because I was thinking about dropping some money on a set of coilovers from king or spend it on some long arms from RK and fox dsc's and upgrade the hell out of my drivetrain

SUMMARY: Long story short how have the shocks been ? can you really feel a difference when you adjust the low/high speed compression settings on the reservoir's,(Off Topic Ish) or like one of my buddies he has some Frankenstein kings with fox dsc reservoirs and its been great for him somehow but yeah, hope you can shed some info on how your shocks been

Thanks! The front bumper is a VKS. I haven’t had a chance to drive it on the 3.0s yet because the shop is still finishing up a few things on the suspension. I do however have the Fox 2.5s with the DSC adjusters on a JLU that gets wheeled a lot. They really do make a noticeable difference, especially the high speed setting.

People cant seem to wrap their minds around this no matter how many times it gets said. Its the frame and interior i bought more than anything else. The frame is the one thing that cant be replicated on the aftermarket.

The stock shocks are fabulous pieces of hardware, and i can kinda get why we get a “wait you did what?” but Im at a place with the rest of my lift where I can accommodate more travel, so thats why Im considering it. A 3.0 or a 2.5 with a flutter valve shim stack would drive great.

Any idea if it would be possible to press out the bushings from each shock and switch them? What are the specs of the bolts?

Sorry for the million questions. Appreciate the help.

I looked at trying to press the bushings out of the stock 2.5s and install in the 3.0s but they would not work. Fox did say that they may work on a hardware kit for the Mojave since the 3.0 would be a upgrade over the stock 2.5s but it would probably be several months.

The upper Mojave shock bolt is a 14mm

Im leaning towards waiting for the market to solve this, but your input is valuable.

Is the lower 14mm as well? Many thanks.

Thats good to know that these are not a direct swap. Kind of a bummer, but I hope Fox does indeed make a hardware kit for these to bolt up. Anyhow, looks like you have a great build going on. Do you have a build thread?

I haven’t started a build thread, I probably will when I have some time. I have posted several build photos on IG though

Update on the 3.0s. The suspension is getting dialed at the Because Stock Sucks shop in Oakhurst, Ca. Using almost all the shock travel on all 4 corners with about 3-1/2" bumpstop. Front 3.0s are 10.72" travel, rears are 9.42". Metalcloak rear adjustable control arms and trackbar, WFO front long arm kit with Metalcloak joints on the front. The front long arm really helps to keep the lower bumpstops lined up with the Mojave factory hydraulic bumps. It's sitting on EVO 4.5" coils. The Metalcloak rear 3.5" coils sagged way too much with the added weight. Should be driving it next week.
