200m???? you a better shot than me with an ar15. Is your first name Jerry?
No, not Jerry.....but I have no problems getting pistols out as far as 2-300m with a good one, sometimes 400m with a red dot on a standard fullsize E Type. It depends largely on the sights. U notch are the worst for long range engagement so 200 is about as far as i find them any good. The fiber/black out square on my 1911 is easy at 300.

Ive taught classes on long range pistol engagement as an emergency skill. Ive first hand seen hits as far as 800m from an accurized 1911. I haven't done it in a while, so i doubt i could just draw and hit 3-400 cold anymore. Have to knock the rust off.

@Gren71 @IamAlan

90-two. I tuned the action and trigger on polished steel. There is no notch to the slide action or grit to the trigger. KKM match barrel 11° on recessed crown, 6.5lb double action trigger thats smoother than freshly waxed pussy, amerigo orange front on black out u notch rear(not my favorite, but fast for conceal carry and low light), stainless guide rod nitron coated guide rod on polished gold wire recoil spring, sissy stick safety pulled for g decock, 18&20 round sticks. I prefer a 45 and i prefer a hand made all steel 1911...but when i have to carry a 9mm, this does fine. Accurate to 200m with the sights on it, so thatll do well enough for conceal carry.

Trigger is great for concealed. Not too twitchy nor overly short competition reset. Just smooth to the wall with a glass rod break.

I did some myself, but the majority of it was done by an old gun smith in the distant hill country of Virginia who knows very old magic and has a soft spot for team guys.

You can get a great trigger job for a beretta by Langdon Tactical now too.

I didn't do the gears myself. I am a youtube mechanic. I can do most things if I find good videos and take my time. Gears are not something I want to tackle.

I've wanted to try changing differential gearing, but never quite had the nerve.
I suppose after rebuilding an automatic transmission I should give it a try...

The only problem with carrying a beautiful tricked out piece like that is, if, God forbid, you ever have to use it in self defense, it will be confiscated by the gendarme. And it'll take a long time to get it back, if ever. This is the reason I don't carry my Colt Plus II.
It's less about that for me, and more about how there's precedent for modified carry guns being used against the defendent. Trigger pull, sights, and appearance have worked against a defendent. My EDC is a basic (albeit well maintained) S&W Shield for this reason. That said, I get the whole race car in the garage analogy too. I'd rather attend my court trial than mine or a loved one's funeral.

Ordered Timbren Off Road Active rear bump stops and some custom valved Fox 2.5 DSC’s today. Figure the truck will be apart doing dual battery, bumper, winch, lights, race radiator, and super charger so why not.
Love your posts.
I hadn’t heard of Timbren before, these are just rubber, right? I was going to order the Metalcloak ones for $50, are these really $200 different?

I mistakenly poured a gallon of antifreeze into my windshield washer fluid reservoir instead of just washer fluid. (The jugs looked the same!!!!) :(
Well, you’re all set for winter storms then!

I have a friend that had to use his gun to defend himself in his business from an armed robber. He shot 4 times, 3 hit the ice cream fridge but one went through the guys lung. It took him almost 2 yrs to get his glock back.
I see your point... but, he survived, he got his gun back, and you can buy a new glock while you’re waiting
