I didn't do it, and it wasn't today...

Got a Check Engine Light on Sunday.
Took it to the dealer on Monday.
Dealer called me Monday afternoon.
Large Evap Leak.

Mice ate my Evap Line!

Last summer, on vacation at Dinosaur National Monument in CO, I opened the hood to find a weasel sitting on my battery and eating the positive terminal cover. Apparently, Jeep-eating rodents are a plague across the nation.

Had to replace the evap line from the fuel filler neck to the fuel tank, and the dealer wrapped it with "rodent tape". $543.00 repair....

If they had chewed through the hard plastic fitting on the fuel tank, it would have been a $2000.00 repair. Service tech says it's common.

Ordered a pair of these hard-wired rodent repellers from Amazon for $50.

that looks a lot better than my current one! Did you follow a set of specs or just made it up as you went?

Any reviews indicating these actually work and don’t just drain your battery?

Had quite a few very positive reviews. Product description claims it has an auto shut-off if the battery gets below 10.5.

Added some AEV Savegre II wheels & 315/70/17 BFG KO2s. Had to modify the spare tire mount a bit to get it to work with the AEV wheels.

when I replace my 285s I want to go to 315s. Do you have any lift or leveling? Do they rub?

Do you mind sharing how you got to the bolt being the spring while installing the brace? I was getting ready to install one of these but I keep wondering if I’m going to have to take out the spring to get to the steering box bolt.
Finally knocked a few things I’ve been wanting to get done:

  1. 5.13 R&P gears installed
  2. Color matched powder coated Motobilt diff covers
  3. Synergy Gen 2 Sector Shaft and track bar brace
  4. Steel steering gear install
  5. Vision X rear facing lights installed in bumper and wired to auxiliary switches
  6. Pedal Commander Install

very happy with everything. The combination of the gearing and the pedal commander make a world of difference. The steering gear with brace makes hands free driving a thing again. The Vision X lights are super bright and a very clean and easy install with the auxiliary switches.

Mounted a Warn VR series winch. Side note: there was some question on another thread about fitment with certain winches on the Rugged Ridge XOR stubby bumper, where some winches hit the angled fairlead mount. I can confirm that the VR series fits the XOR without issue.

I have a leveling on the front. They do not rub.
