I had Duratrac's on three of my F-150. Living in Ontario and Canada, i don't care what anyone say the Duratrac's ROCK THE SNOW! I Rarely used 4wd, just the locker with 2wd and never an issue. With that being said SC doesn't get much snow. I didn't use winter's with my Duratrac's and I usually got 50,000mi's (80,000ish kms) out of them. I didn't find them bad for noise. Off roading, I used them mostly on fire road and logging roads, again through snow and mud and lots of crap and they performed EXTREMELY well. I never used them for rock crawling so I cannot comment there.

A Canadian's 10c so about 2c US :D
I appreciate the input. I was looking at the KO2's, but with the DT discount of nearly $300 and the ringing endorsement of the DuraTrac tires I'm going with them. I drive less than 3K per year, 95% on asphalt, so anything is likely to be good enough. Now debating black wall vs. white letter out. With the larger letters I'll probably stick with black wall out.

I gotta say though, You'd better make sure you like the tires.
At 3k mi/yr, you'll have them a LONG time!
That's awesome!

Thanks for the pic and that is one sweet jeep. Those are the rims I hope to purchase in the next couple of days, mine is Bright White, same leather and the Bak 4S cover. Do your tires have the white letters or black wall both sides?

Nah, don't forget they will probably dry rot out before he hits the mileage limit! So he will still get some new tires in about 10 years, lol

Duratracs all the way! Ran KO2s on my JL and had a ton of issues. Put the DTs on my JT they ride great on an off-road. People say the sidewall is weak but I’ve beaten mine and had 0 issues

They’re both good options that I’ve run over the years. I picked DTs because I drive in snow, and my experience has been they simply do better as an all around tire when snow is part of the equation. The light weight of the DTs is a nice bonus as well.

And those bead locks accent your Mojave quite nicely.

I'm surprised the overwhelming positivity of the DT's. Definitely going to go that way and hopefully save some money doing it.

Here’s my take on both:

2019 JLU Rubicon KO2s. Wife’s ride. They handle great. Quiet too. At 50,000 miles, they are nearing the end of their life.

2020 JL (6 speed : ) KO2s. My son’s ride. They are flawless at 10,000 miles. I mounted some 35” Duratracks on Quadrateck Morphic wheels a while back waiting for delivery of my JT. My son wanted to try them. After a week, he gave them back. While great off road, he couldn’t get used to the highway handling.

2021 JT Rubicon Diesel finally came. Removed the tiny Wild Peaks and installed the Duratracks. Love the sidewall design but I must say, high speed stability is ok but not as confidence inspiring as the KO2s. Duratracks are wearing like iron so far.

Thanks to @Discount Tire Tire I've got the Rubicon takeoff rims with the DuraTrac 285/70 R17s installed and couldn't be happier. It's pretty obvious there's a meatier tire installed, a slight hum, a little firmer, but it's just the look/profile I was looking for.

Don met the USAA Goodyear discount and had the tires to the store in a day. My local store contacted me immediately and a pretty flawless process overall. Seems the 42 wouldn't fit ;)
