I just got my JT Overland last Friday, so I don't have any long term experience. That said, I pulled the stock tires off an went with GY duratracs. I think they are very quiet and the ride seems smooth. I have stock suspension and wanted something more aggressive.
So far I love them.

I considered the Ko2s, KM3s, and Duratrac but went with the General X3. They were rated higher than both and cheaper than the KO2. Plus i saw a review of the Duratrac and they have soft sidewalls. I live in Houston so wet traction and highway comfort is a must. I was not disappointed. Not trying to convince you, just saying check them out.

I have owned both, I would own another set of Duratracs in a NY minute, the KO2's did not really excite me that much. Thats the real answer.

Ok now for the omg the BF's get such good ratings. Remember this, BF's are an OEM tire which means that there are a lot more on the road and manufacturers get credit when they outfit a vehicle with them

In addition to that there is a strange phenomena that goes on with men, not only do they seem to get what everyone else does (probably so they can say they can afford what The Jones have) but even if they think what they have is a pos they says its the best its great. I think they dont want people to think they made a poor decision or maybe they might want to sell their truck to a friend one day and if he knows the guy said the tires suck he might not buy it.

I dont know a lot but I know I have owned over 100 vehicles and that means a lot of tires and I find the BF's to be average in looks, good in performance but my two favorite all around tires for the scenario you described are the Duratracs and the Toyo Open Countrys. I just got the Toyo III's and they just keep getting better.

In the future if you decide to do more off roading and add that to your scenario than my third favorite is the Mickey ATZ now called the Baja Boss. I am a 100% A/T guy and those by far are my three favs.

If I was saving 200 hands down Duractrac, leave the "me too" tires to the other guys. They probably all have submariner Rolex's also :)

I wonder if @Discount Tire would match the USAA discount? I really like working with them and man you've owned a lot of vehicles .

I'm purchasing a set of take off Rubicon rims for my Overland model. I've found a few sets with the Falken MT tires, but pretty honest with my self that the 3K miles I drive a year will mostly be street miles with a few light trail trips on some weekends. The AT tires seem more suited for what I do.

The DuraTracs and K02's are pretty much the same price, but one eagle-eyed forum member pointed out USAA members can get 25% off of certain Goodyear tires so the DuraTracs are about $200 cheaper.

So here in SC I'm not likely to ever get appreciable snow, some light trails so which would make the most sense. I could probably save the most overall with the take off MT's, but don't think that's the best option?

Any thoughts and bonus points if you have your own KO2 pics with white letters out.
I had Duratracs on my JKU and LOVED them. I strongly recommend them... but honestly I don't think you can go wrong with one over the other.

My discount tire price matched the USAA price.

Ive had both the BFG and Duratracs.

I prefer the duratracs.

I lost two sidewalls on the BFGs but have had zero issues with the duratracs. Could have been bad luck? Perhaps.

In 6,000 miles I’ve only lost ~1mm tread. I expect them to last around 60k miles.

Thanks for the information. I'll call them. They've been great to work with in the past and if they'll match that price an even bigger win.

Can't speak for the BFGs, but I ran Duratracs on my JK under similar driving conditions with no issues for years. They did great in winter and were more than adequate for what little off-roading I do.

I've had both and the KO2s win for me. They both had similar on/off-road manners and tread life, but I had several flats with the Duratracs (some which were repairable and some not) over about 50k miles. With probably 200k miles with KO2s on various vehicles, I can only remember one flat.

I was looking at similar tire options just recently and ended up getting talked into the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. The guys at the shop I'm going through said that it's the best all-terrain tire in the snow for up here in Minnesota, which was a big factor in my decision making here. I went in pretty set on the KO2 and they said the KO2 is a good tire, it's just sort of old technology and that some of the newer companies are coming up with better designs for snow and road noise. Getting them installed in two weeks on a new set of Method 305 NV wheels, so we'll see how I like them.
