What do you lose if you don't get leather?

So, I am in a situation where I think a sport S with max tow package gets me most things i want/need especially knowing that I'll eventually build it up down the road. The sport s cannot be optioned with the factory leather only the katzkin which I know from personal experience is actually better. So besides the center cup holder fold down in the back, what else is missing?

I think i've read something about a back seat cover or storage or something is gone. Anyone have pictures?

oh thats for sure. my first JK had a cloth seats which i didn't like because they were difficult to keep clean. my current JK has the black "leather". worst plastic leather ever. hotter than hell.

In Texas, you lose the ability to scorch your skin from June through September. I'm quite happy with my cloth seats.

Reading these replies makes me happy I didn't get leather in this Texas weather.

I've had leather pretty much my whole life but I was either on the west coast or midwest.

Thought I would be happy upgrading to leather on my 2014 JK, so I ordered katzkin leather seats and had them installed. Worst mod ever. As was stated earlier, in Houston heat and humidity they were a nightmare. When looking for my JT, skipped any vehicle with leather.

I wish there was an 'interior upgrade package' that kept the cloths seats but added the other stuff, I'd have paid maybe half the leather seat option price for such a package. To me, in Central Florida and next door to the sun, the katzkin option is the worst of both worlds: leg-seating pain from the seats, without any upgrade to the interior trim

What Is wrong with the Katzkin leather? I have a white Gladiator and was thinking of going red leather katzkins and MAYYYBEEEE door panels from a rubicon (leather with red stitch) and leather dash panel with the red stitch.

Sorry, I’m sure nothing is wrong with the leather itself. Or, at least I have no negative experience. What I was trying to say was that as a Floridian who plans to have his top off a lot, I don’t want leather but, if it was available, I would like the fancier interior otherwise. Katzkins build off the NON-LEATHER interior so you don’t get the fancy dash, so again for me in that world I’d have the seats I don’t want but also still have the base dash I like less too.

My wife and I prefer leather, we've not experienced burned legs - hot, yes, but not so bad we wish we didn't have leather. Every Jeep she's owned for the last 15 years has been leather interior.

If mine had cloth seats, I'm sure I'd still be happy with it, but I just prefer leather these days.
If you get leather - and live in my area, the cold weather package is a MUST unless you like frost bite on your legs.
I can imagine Texans thinking the same about their heat.............wishing they had cooled seats.

Absolutely. I could care less about the heated seats and steering wheel, but cooled seats are a God send from June to October. Why Jeep doesn't offer them on the JL/JT is beyond me.
