Don't need a big fancy one costing THOUSANDS.

Have been searching a bit,

Any suggestions on a light weight, easily removable plow, for a JT and the aforementioned Old Fart?

Just my long driveway, not commercial.

Thanks folks!

There's been a few threads on them. The ones that attach using a front receiver seem to be reasonably priced, and should work for what you need.

Thank you Sir.

I had read all the posts, I was wondering if any had taken the plunge. I've been researching the Meyers.
Maybe ask inside one of those threads then there isn't another thread about snowplows.

Light duty equipment is going to give light duty performance. The homeowner style plows are going to require multiple passes in a big storm and depending on where you are in the hudson valley that can mean cold storms piling up on the gunks dropping big inches or a southern storm chasing the river and dumping wet concrete.

Thanks Cowboy, stopped by my local plow guy today, and a Fisher plow for the Gladiator is around 5K installed. Steep for doing just this Retired Old Farts driveway. Tough on a limited income. HS Compact Snow Plow | Mid-Duty Straight Blade Plow | FISHER (fisherplows.com)

LOL - Anything on a JT is still likely to be faster - and heavier duty than using my JD lawn tractor and the 54" blade on the front of that. Talk about MULTIPLE PASSES, and much of the time I have to work my way up to the road and plow down toward the garage as I can't push the weight of the snow UP HILL to the road out front.

I'm not saying the homeowner series are bad, just trying to help illuminate what you are up against. Bonesteel in kingston kept my 10' wester highway blade working along and that was on a 2wd c60, power of truck factored against blade weight is gonna tell you how many little passes its gonna take. My jku wears a 7'6" western HTS and i'm the biggest small plow around.

If you can fit it yourself I'd give a call to qhttps://westernparts.com/plow-parts-home/?utm_source=nxt&utm_medium=sem&utm_campaign=westernpartsorder&utm_id=fall

I saved about 2 grand on my plow and honestly working slow it took about 4 hours to fit. Most of that was preping and assembly.

I'm using my JD Tractor with a JD Snow Blower, on a 1800 foot long driveway. If it doesn't throw a belt, it ain't bad. A pain in the tookus to install, and honestly, don't know how much longer I can do it, and how long the tractor will last. Like me, it's OLDE!

Not showing the plow attached but this is my plow vehicle. 300' long driveway that rises 100'. Works like a charm! Way better than the F250 with a Myers plow I use to have. I just wouldn't want the added wear and tear on the nice expensive jeep front end components.

Yeah, I get it - you were doing the right thing - beware, the entry level plows on these will be, well, pretty light weight plows.

I take it you aren't running any receiver mount plows. That's likely how I'd go. My wife and I have talked about it, and keep going back and forth - do we, or don't we - keep the JD or trade up, keep using that 54" blade - or plow on the truck, etc.

The approach concrete to my shop isn't bad - I can shove that off the west end and it goes down the hill to our yard because I had about 30 twin-screw county dump trucks dump load after load of fill and dirt to build up an area to build on. But the driveway - house on the west, garage at the south end, the west side is up-hill from the concrete so not a way to really push snow to the east, you have to push it north a ways and then many passes to push that off the west side of the driveway. It's all up hill from the garage and house to the yard.

I don't have pics of our lawn tractor - X739 with 60" mower deck and 54" blade for the front.
