I'm going to tow with mine so the 4xe version will probably have crappy towing and payload capacity. I'm holding out to see if they release a v8 version or max tow in anything other than sport or sport s (along with unconnect 5).
a V8 option with the same 7650 towing capability as a max tow sport s would sell me in seconds but I think that is dream scenario.

My fear is they are strategically not doing this because they don't want to interfere with Ram sales.

I do not think the customer base between the two connect that much to impact either. RAM truck sales have been a 5X-7X eclipse of Gladiator sales by a wide margin. Gladiator coming out with a V8 option will poach very little from RAM sales.

Besides, what little it would, the profits will stay inside the same corporate umbrella and not be another manufacturer sale poaching.

I agree @Hootbro - and the profit margin on the JT has to be higher than the 1500. I'm still not holding my breath for a V8 though, lol.

I’m just about ready to order…. Just not sure if I want to wait until they cut over to 2022. Not that having a different year truck matters to me so much, but with logistics right now. Who knows…

Plus it would suck to order a 21 right now and miss anything new for a 2022 model year.

I ordered yesterday. I’d rather have the car being built than waiting for November to start. Hopefully irs nothing big, unconnect 5 would annoy me but not as much as having to wait months more for a car to come.

I just wish they would offer a bigger V6. 3.6 liters, 219 ci, is tiny, not much torque for towing. Maybe bore and/or stroke it to somewhere around 4.2 or 4.6 liters. I think the 392 takes up a lot of room and produces a lot of heat, which is hard to dissipate with the small radiator possible in the chassis. Maybe they could spread the frame rails, etc. somewhat to allow a wider radiator.

I doubt there will be anything too too crazy, unless the prices drop.

My options are few, Rubi, auto trans, switches, led’s, roll up cover, 8.4 screen, speaker, tow package, proximity sensors, black hard top. MSRP is 55,540 - Kent at Peterson’s has me at 49,340 before ttl, $53,942 otd. To me sounds like a good deal.
