I love big garage doors. (they require opener extensions, but so what?)

My problem is backing my wife's GC in - it's not as wide an opening and I sometimes get really close.
One week after buying her 2021, I was setting up the opener for her. I had it working fine. I sat in her Jeep opening and closing the door to make sure the opener programming worked.
I gave the button a final push to open the door again - and started to back in - for some reason the door had STOPPED. Oh, boy - everyone hears about the tiny scratch I put on the hatch of her new Grand Cherokee.
Just realized that I have that option.

Of course that bay doesn't have an opener and I would have to reorganize the garage. But....
Now I can leave the top up and
get a lift and 40's !
Nah !

That’s a bummer. FWIW I like that the soft top does not fold into the bed as it would hit bikes, or tents. Much better utility with the man bun!!! That being said I use the soft top mostly with rear window out and no doors and rarely flip it back. Gotta keep that bald head out of the sun

Almost did the same thing. I bought the soft top after I got my truck and got tired of taking the Freedom Panels off. First time I pulled her in she barely cleared (less than an inch). I didn't notice until I got out the the truck. After adding 1.5" front spacer it almost brushes when the top is back. I'm going to have to get a lot smarter when I add tires!

Thanks for sharing!

My JT came with the hardtop, couldn't wait to get my soft top installed. Install went great and I was thinking I better check clearance into the garage with the top
folded back. Course I forgot.

Knocked it right out of the tracks and bent the hell out it .
This is actually a picture of after I straightened it out some.
No damage to the top ! Worked fine after the carnage.

I can't be the only one.
And guess what? I did it again but just a light tap . I blame that on the sun shade I put on that sometimes doesn't make it obvious the top is folded back. Jeez !
Too funny, I did the same exact thing as you minus the damage as well! Learned my lesson to fold the top forward before pulling in! My saving grace was probably the fact I was backing in.

Glad to hear.
Did you check clearance before pulling in the first time just to be sure? 84 inches is probably the minimum.

This is why I won't be getting a lift or taller tires.
