so you got the 2021 rubicon gladiator to lock the rear in 4 Hi ?I have a 2021 Rubicon. This works. Just tried it. The key is holding the ESC button until ESC OFF displays on the screen. Then hit the rear locker and it locks.
Thanks for the info.
Good question for some, I own an unlocked Sport so ??????For some reason I was u DWR the impression that the rear differential could be locked in 4High. Tried it while on the beach this weekend and it said I need to be in 4Low. Is there a way to lock rear in 4High? Educate a novice, please ...
Everything you say is true and it does make a huge difference in sand. Yes/andGood question for some, I own an unlocked Sport so ??????
But I have to ask, do you really need it locked on the surf? After 20 years on the surf with 2 unlocked TJs, I never saw the need for locker. Air down and enjoy. Damn TJs would go half or whole mile down the beach in 2WD with no problem until you came to a stop (you could feel it sink when you stopped). Then you just put it in 4WD High and finish the ride (fish)! 17-20 PSI everytime.
Surf fishing is always best March to June and Sept to Dec, when all the rich non-fishing posers are off the beach
Minky, are you driving a 2020 Rubi? Or 2021?Sorry for the late reply but I had the same issue and was able to google your thread and find useful info. So here is the solution I have from the dealer and it works fine.
he explains the proper sequence and talks about an update if it doesnāt work.
also the Mopar jeep videos arenāt helpful at all since the are a spoken version of the manual, which doesnāt explain the exact sequence and tips.
Thanks for posting this. I previously could not get my rear locker to engage in 4HI on my 2021 Mojave. So here is the solution I have from the dealer and it works fine.

@JeepCares it has now been released, so is their an answer to the question (is Jeep making this āback dateableā?) In other words, can I go to the dealer and get an update for my 2020 to allow me to unlock my rear in 4hi?Hi smlobx,
I apologize, but that is all the information available at this time. Once it is released, I anticipate your question will be answered.

Another interested 2020 Rubi owner here. How about it @JeepCares?2nd that, is there a TSB number or something ?
Jeep should make up laminated cards with this sequence and put them in the glovebox. Jeep, are you listening? much more useful then the airbag placard that gets tied to the glovebox for delivery to the first owner. Actually, even better would be a sticker affixed to the inside door of the glovebox with this sequence. This way it canāt get lost.New 2021 Rubicon JT diesel here. I followed the steps, 4 Hi, Off-road+, then ESC off by holding traction button for a few secs. Rear locker locked right in. Thanks for this thread, I had no clue the Rubi's were updated to do this.
