Yes, they did a forced regen. They said it shouldn't work because it only showed 29 percent full but when it was done they drove it around and never had another problem. I have had it derate since then but it didn't throw the exhaust code. What was the fix? A force regen?
This made me chuckle, I’ve been watching this thread carefully since ordering mine. Your videos helped put a nail in the coffin to convince me on the oil burner.Mine is still broken. I towed on the freeway again today, uphill at times, with a winch right in front of my grille, and my coolant ran 205 with oil at 225 the entire way. Can't figure out why no matter what I do mine won't overheat.
Any updates on Bullet Proof Diesel?Bullet Proof Diesel should have a working prototype on my JTRD next month.
On side note I was going up a 4 mile 6% grade last night. Before I hit the summit I could smell hit oil. Coolant temp was 242 and oil temp was 264. Outside temps 82 with 60+ humidity. Started the climb at 65mph and at summit was down to just above 50mph.
I have had nothing but problems with the iDrive on three different Jeeps. Almost had my warranty voided on my Wrangler due to using it. They replaced it twice and I've finally trashed it. After a few thousand miles it caused all kinds of throttle control issues causing the jeep to stall, buck and kick and lose power. Removed it entirely on my JT and everything back to "normal"
Not since I had my Jeep in for them to go over. Got a call from the GM there a few weeks ago saying they are working on the problems and went out and bought a diesel JT so they can have something in house to figure out solutions.Any updates on Bullet Proof Diesel?
I feel your pain. My spring and shock issues were fixed when I went with the Mopar 2" lift. Made a big difference over the factory Rubicon suspension and shocks.Hmmm... yesterday I flat towed my 3400lb TJ to the coast (Pismo Beach) on Hwy 46. Outside temps were 95 ish. I saw the coolant as high as 236, oil temp spiked to 257, trans never over 205. I wasn’t pushing it and was maintaining 60-70 depending on grade and traffic. I’m a gear head and have always been nervous with temps at these levels.
The consensus seems to be the the diesels have barely sufficient cooling and do run warmer than most. This basically sucks. So now I’m thinking “ would a good engine oil cooler help? Where to mount it? Is there any way to increase air flow through the radiator and then out of the engine compartment? And so on... There’s only two things I’m kind of disappointed with.. the high operating temps and the completely inadequate front spring and shock rates that bottom out if I pull into my driveway too fast. The suspension I know how to fix and am waiting on parts to arrive, the cooling is another story that I’ll have to research.
Got rid of mine as well....I have had nothing but problems with the iDrive on three different Jeeps. Almost had my warranty voided on my Wrangler due to using it.
