Have you checked Carvana? I recently got an offer on my 2014 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon JK as I was looking for something to take to dealership to get trade-in value on a Gladiator. I bought it used in 2017 with 18k miles and just sold it to Carvana with 29k miles for $38k (about 12% more than I paid for it).

The process was very easy.
Carvana was 54,035

1. Yes I owed on the Mojave. After the down payment and first months payment on the Volvo I netted $12k.

2. Leased an XC60 B5 awd.

3. Buy out is $33.5k, which I don’t plan on doing.

Wasn’t much room to negotiate on price, came a $1000 under msrp. Money factor was about average for the luxury car side of things. Overall it was a decent lease but not great. But, wanted to try something different out. Leasing is also the only way I’ll keep a car longer than 6 months as well.

Edit: I agree about the remote start, I've yet to get it to work, hopefully that will get sorted out with future app updates. I'm slowly getting used to the new google infotainment system, its a bit light on features but it works well. So far I'm pretty impressed with the Volvo, very very quiet/refined on the road. The harmon/kardon stereo is also shockingly good for being their mid-tier audio option.
+1 on the XC60 with the Google infotainment. Beauty.
You never got the remote start to work? Initial setup done at dealer?
I had to delete my app last week and download the updated version to get mine to work again. So used to just pushing a fob button twice and being done with it. One last bitch is they don’t have engine block heaters. I said, “huh?” Sales Manager says “not required with synthetic oil and large battery”.
Really?
I have the Sales Managers phone number on my phone so when it’s -40C and doesn’t start they can come tow it away and leave me a loaner.
I suppose I could set the start timer to run for 5 minutes every hour, but
Greta Thunberg might get pissed at me.?

They're offering you 5k over original sticker? That's insane! Do you have a lot of mods?
None so far outside of tints. No lots really have any around here. The gladiators paid off and I’d mostly be trading it and ordering at the dealer so I would pay next to nothing on taxes and title OTD fees.

I sold my Rubicon Gladiator for $10,000 more than I paid for it. I had about $5,000 in aftermarket that I left on it, so I netted $5,000. Turned around and bought my Texas Trail Gladiator and used the $5,000 to upgrade some of the things on it.
I saw one of the Texas Trial Gladiators at the dealership yesterday when I was there ordering part to fix sunvisor. They didn't have many gladiators on the lot. Looked like just a few Mojaves and the Texas Trailer Edition. I liked that Texas Trail Edition.

I kind of regret selling my XJ. But got great money for it. It also hated the heat here. No matter what I did to the cooling system, XJs weren't designed for the 4.0.

Traded in my 2021 Mojave a few days ago. Paid $48k, MSRP $53.5k, got $54k for it. Ended up leasing a Volvo and the dealer cut me a check for $12k. I’m contemplating ordering a base JL 2dr now.
I kind of want to do that same.

I sold my Polestar V60 for my Gladiator. Took advantage of the market.

But I've been thinking of going with a Willy's 2 door JL and call me crazy but a Ford Maverick, or get a Polestar 2 plus the JL.

I’ve also been contemplating a base Maverick as well, once the initial craze for them dies down.

I just want an XLT with AWD and the 4K towing option (~$30k). I'd actually lower it as well. I think they would look really good as a street truck/ mini truck. Lowered, wheels, then power adders.

I also never buy the first model year of a new vehicle.

I bought my JLUR for 8% below the invoice. At 2 years old and 22k miles I was offered 10% above what I paid for it.

I got to thinking about getting the 4xe and figured I could make about $15k on the trade premium and tax credits. Ultimately, I decided against it as it would leave me without a vehicle for a while and force me away from the non-etorque 3.6/8sp combo which I consider to be the best long term combo for my needs.

Thought about a base Maverick XL as a third vehicle but the lack of cruise control and no ability to get it added as either a package or dealer add on killed that idea. They force you into the XLT trim to get cruise control.

Various and sundry IT stuff
My success story is a bit different, but same idea.

I had a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 that was pretty loaded (including the 6.2 V8). Last June I had about 80,000 miles on the truck. It was very clean, no accidents, etc.

I took my wife's 2017 JK in for an oil change and was chatting with one of the sales guys. Long story short: he ended up offered me $42K trade-in value on my truck—which seemed ridiculously high to me. I only paid about $55K for the truck brand new, so I was only losing $13K after 4 years and 80K miles. Seemed like a no-brainer, since my gut told me that in regular times I'd have been doing good to get $30K for the truck.

He had two high-end Gladiators on his lot (that's about all he had in the way of Jeeps). High-end trucks apparently weren't selling all that well around here. Anyways, the truck I ended up buying was a tarted up Rubicon with the turbodiesel, black leather, body-color hardtop, etc. Window sticker price on the truck was $63K.

With my trade, I ended up paying $19K plus taxes. That made me a happy camper, since the warranty was about to run out on my GMC and I wasn't excited about the prospect of expensive stuff starting to break on my nickel. It had been a great truck and I'd own another in a heartbeat, but the Gladiator has been a total hoot. No regrets, and I'm happy that the ridiculous market for used vehicles helped me do the switch for much less money than I would have expected.

I remember around this time in 2020, prices started to go down and I thought I'd missed the gravy train to trade in my then Tacoma. Only to see prices go back up with a vengeance a month or two into the new year. Let's see what happens in 2022.
