On. The only time I turn it off is if I get stuck, and I need wheelspin to get out. Otherwise, always on. Oh, and I used to turn it off on the dragstrip as well (not in the JT haha).

what others have said, leave it on. Works like magic. ut then again, it is fun to turn it off and drift the big ol' girl.

If she gets too tippy or steps out too far, the nannies will still kick in. I can still get it completely sideways before the nannies override my having overridden the system.

I’m going to make this discussion easy. Over the last few days I’ve finally been testing the jt in deeper snow(12+). It will bog down with traction control fully on. At least shut off the basic traction control either by the button or off road plus mode. Now on the highway it is a different story. Always keep traction engaged fully. I would not wait until your stuck to turn the button off, unless ofcourse your looking for an excuse to try out your traction boards.

Doesn’t the stability control still stay on with the traction control off? Outside of 4lo? I always preferred it off but the stability control can come in handy at times.

This right here! Leave it on unless I'm stuck or am charging that last fifty feet of my driveway and want my momentum and wheelspin to get me up. It's a straight shot so I'm not worried about falling "offtrack" so no traction control. I learned a valuable lesson last year when my Outback killed my throttle and gravity took over my forward momentum and slid me off the crown of the road. Even with our worn geolandars I should have made it up that stretch. Would I drive on the freeway with it off in the winter or rain? No, that's just stupidity.

If you want to lock in the rear in 4hi it all has to come off.

Holing the traction control button down longer will disable more of the stability control systems. You probably only need to do this in extreme conditions or if you want to do donuts in a parking lot. A quick press of the traction control will suffice in most conditions.

Sport has off-road plus mode?

I leave traction control on all the time. Prevents wheel spin and slippage. I've driven our unplowed backroads and highways.
"Bogging down" is preventing wheel slip, I view that as a good thing. Never had a problem.

This is only true if you have the Taser.

Mine and others here did no such disabling when holding the button for longer than 5 sec, but after I installed the Taser JL it will disable every traction aid. The only way to reenable it is the ignition cycle the vehicle.

Been out & about all over this week in the snow here in the PNW (outside of Seattle area).

Traction control off for "fun" driving. Wife did donuts in the Coastal parking lot.

TCS on, in 4hi Auto the JTR rarely lost traction. And I'd accelerate pretty hard coming off traffic lights, corners, etc.

Driving out on the freeway, I was Jeep's best advertisement (or worse, depending on how "Karen" people get when they see someone can actually drive in the snow).

I saw a woman in a CRV driving down the freeway straddling two lanes. 3 lanes were bare in the tire tracks. If you count the bare stripes from left to right, there were 3 stripes, the CRV in the next two, and 1 stripe left. Idiot. She figured it out shortly after I blew past.
