That is exactly what I was getting at. I’m aware they have to have it up to snuff prior to testing further, more then reasonable . And yes I’d agree the battery jeep chose to use are cheap crap. My zr2 came with an 800 amp agm from diehard . Seems to me I heard someplace they have an oversized battery tray. Perhaps they should have filled the tray ?? I also think the diesel uses more battery while off obviously due to the def system heater. Also I would reason that the fact my def froze last week that it’s reasonable to believe that the voltage dropped due to the draw from the heater leading the computer to turn off the heater to keep the battery strong enough to start the truck… all of this revolves around poor design/quality.

Why don't they give you a rental and keep it? I am bringing mine in and they plan on giving me a rental car to figure it out.

I would "like" this post but it might look weird - liking that it has to go back...
No, it would be because they actually got a STAR case going. That's a good sign, IMO.

Mine was ESS, but while waiting for a PCM some night mechanics cut my DPF off and gave me no restriction performance exhaust.

So I'm stuck driving a loaner compass that sucks

Service department has had mine for a week now, the start/stop is "said" to be working now, having replaced the egr valve. A technician was supposed to have driven it home to put miles and time on it to assess systems. But when I went to pick up my truck, I noticed the A/C system not working again. Lost charge in a week, at least I was able to keep the Cherokee loaner while they troubleshoot the leak.

I have not scanned this thread but has this been posted here?

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/ibs-clear-reset.67955/

I charged both my batteries seperately last week and followed this IBS reset.. Boom 2 days later start/stop works! I will add that I believe I damaged one of my charges on the Lithium battery-it did not charge @ 6v 2amp.. The lithium battery did charge @ 12v 2amp AMG setting on a different charger

I’ll get a loner when I go back they didn’t have one today and they said giving it a few days for star to look it over would not be a bad idea. And I agree. They are putting me in a grand Cherokee when I go back. Sucks but I’m not at the anger point yet. I told the sm that I actually prefer the fact it don’t work. But for 50k I want all functions functioning. He laughed and said he most people hate it and find ways to make it not work. I’ll give it a little time and see. They did have a couple Mohave’s ….. but as we no no diesels in those sooo I’m out on those. Plus the frames bend on those when you reach max payload and then go full send through the desert 🏜

Was the battery fully charged when you installed it?
Did you disconnect the primary battery while you did the swap?

Disconnect both batteries and battery grounds.
Make sure both batteries are fully charged.
Reconnect the batteries.
Make sure all connectors under the fuse box are properly seated.
Make sure all fuses and relays in the fuse box are properly seated.

System will take up to 24 hours to recover from reset.

If still having issues, will need a dealer visit.

Due to the warm weather we had sense my last visit the start stop has been working for 3 days. Took it in today and told them that the system is working for now. They agreed there was no sense in leaving it there for the day being that there is technically nothing wrong. It’s been documented and we will be seeing if the issue returns with the cold weather. It’s been mid 30s all week and tonight it’s going to drop to -16 and a high of 5 tomorrow and back into the negatives again tomorrow night. I am certain the condition will return with the cold. My best guess is that the def heater is drawing the battery down keeping things from freezing. Once the battery is depleted to a certain point the def heater is cut off and that is what led to my frozen def last week. So the saga continues. I’m debating on a battery tender and block heater. Or to just buy a winter rat and store the gladiator every winter. I could lease a Subaru and only run it in winter, keep the salt and miles off my rig lol. Drastic measure for a simple problem haha.

I looked through my old posts and found the tech’s solution:

Today I dropped it off my local dealer to have them take a look at it again. I was notified that the issue was that the ‘Intelligent Battery Sensor’ was not properly calibrated and didn’t know when the battery was charged. Because of the calibration issue the Start/Stop would not kick in. The tech had to recalibrate it and it’s working again.
Do you have to have the dealer to re-calibrate. I hate them and can't go back in that place.

You can go to ANY Jeep dealer, no matter what dealer you bought it from.
