Did the durango have the same discounts or less? My friend wants to possibly order a durango thru gupton
MSRP $57.2k with destination and he came back with $50k + doc fees. It was killer.

I ordered mine in November and still waiting for it. All these price increases are making me nervous. My dealer said that they could quote what it was when I ordered it, but I would have to pay what the build price was when it's actually built. I'm am trying to brace myself for having to decide what my walk away price is :-(

Here is what Gupton told me.

Sold order protection guarantees that your price will not increase between the time it is actually ordered and the delivery date. But, Gupton Motors cannot be held responsible for sudden price increases that happen before the deposit is secured and the vehicle is actually ordered.

Well I'm going to keep that in mind. I guess worst case I have to refuse the truck and wait for the prices to fall again and use Gupton like everyone else. What you put above is the exact opposite of what the dealer in my town said. I did put down a deposit when I ordered it.

That sounds inaccurate. If you have a VIN then the price is essentially set. As to the Gupton quote above, he's saying that if a price increase happens between the time you contact them and the time you pay a deposit you're screwed, but after the deposit and order confirmation your price should be set.

Someone feel free to correct me, but that is my interpretation. My window sticker recently posted and it's using the prices from the guide that was active when I ordered. I saw none of the increases included in subsequent order guide updates.

How did you guys go about getting VON number from the dealer after order? I asked my salesperson to get VON and he told me to be checking back from time to time and dealer will provide me with the update on the build status

I do have a VIN, so maybe they misspoke, because for instance with my build they told me that I HAD to have locking lug nuts and the jeep off-road kit in order to have the duel doors. And that the rock sliders or any kind of running board would have to be after I got the jeep. Huge part my fault since I went in unprepared. No one in my family had built a viechicle before and I should have joined this group before/done more research.

I had a VIN assigned almost instantaneously. If they can't provide a VON or VIN I would assume incompetence / they haven't actually ordered it yet. Once you have either of those numbers you'll be able to get updates directly from Jeep Chat on build status.

lol I mean the ordering system is weird, so maybe they're full of it and maybe not. But - if you have a VIN you are in good shape.

I signed and put my deposit down on my order on Thursday 1/13, had to finally ask for a VIN today as I didnt get anything back right away. My new build sheet with the VIN shows a higher MSRP than my original order its mainly all in the vehicle cost $46945 vs now $48025... Wondering which price I will get? My original signed Doc had the original pricing.... Additionally on the FWP list side it shows 4UQ - T3AC was added for $125. Trying to look up what that is.

I do not think having a VIN means anything when it comes to locking in final pricing as the build sheet and the Monroney Label (Window Sticker) does not get issued until it is actually built. VIN does not dictate build order either. When it is built is when it is priced.

That is my concern, now. I've been toying with the idea of trading in my 2020 manual sport S for a 2021 (now 2022) JTRD for a year now.

I kept putting it off, until now with used prices what they are I figure I can get a decent trade value, but now the 2022 as I've optioned it is thousands more than when I had it quoted last year.

Bottom line - will (or, can?) the MSRP prices for these vehicles go down again in another year or so once commodity prices deflate again, or is waiting bound to not matter a bit?
