How can I tell if a used Gladiator has the Max Tow option?

Hello,

I am in the market for a Gladiator, and I want the Max Tow.

If you buy a new Sport S, then Max Tow will be listed on the window sticker, if it is included.
But a used vehicle may not have the original sticker.

How can I tell if a used Gladiator has the Max Tow option? Is there a code in the VIN?

The door label will have a tow rating over 4000 lbs.

The fender flares are wider as well. Most used dealers will pull all the equipment specs off the Chrysler site and list them. You can sort of see the extra lip on fenders. Easier if you look at the JL next to it.

Good luck on your search, that was my one thing I wanted if I wasn’t getting a rubi. Luckily one popped up the day we decided to trade into a JT as a second ride.

Look for the fender lip…

Non max tow below. If you look close, the fender in the pic below is flat on the side. Doesn’t have that little lip/protrusion like the max tow above.

Tow rating is not on any door sticker (it's also more than 4000 lbs on anything with a tow package, except a manual sport/s) The best way to tell visually is the little lip on the fenders flares, as @DailyMoparGuy and @Gvsukids pointed out.

Thats what I was thinking. I know I have Max Tow but thought I'd have a sticker somewhere calling out GCWR or something.

To add another caveat; some newer Gladiator models can be optioned with the Max Tow package, where as at one time there was just a Max Tow model.

Ask the seller. Most Max Tow owners will let you know it is a Max Tow.

Mine does and it does not have Max Tow. It is a Willys and has the Tow package and it has a 6000 pound tow rating.

I believe the payload as shown on the door sticker will be higher for the Max Tow. It should be similar to mine.
