Well Tuesday as I was taking the kid to school. I got lifter rattle everytime the truck went past 3000 RPM. I changed the oil yesterday and the varialbe lift solenoid on bank 1 today as that is where I was registering misfires on 1,3, and 5. No dice. Tried giving it an Italian tune up, and my tune just ahut it down cause the ignition was off and the valvetrain was not working.

So the bad: I have the infamous rocker arm failure, but I have a killer power adder on top my engine, which will give them all the excuse they need to deny me warranty.

The good: I can set my redline to 2800 RPM below lockpin and I have enough torque between idle and 2800 to make it all the way into 8th gear at 70 mph. I am getting 18 miles to the gallon.

New cams, lifters, and followers are on order. Be nice if I could get them this weekend. Make it all new and have it ready for dad duties next week.

If not, it is current doing ok in my self induced limp around mode ?

Did you change pulse width on your initial tune ?

Pulse width of what?

I have tuned for the Magnuson injectors and I have anout 10K miles of fueling data, that shows that all operating conditions are getting as good or better fueling than factory.

Even with a rocker down, I only had 6 degrees of correction at full throttle and then it clamped down on the throttle model and fuel cooled cylinder 1.

You will always find a better monkey, but it would take a heck of a monkey to grenade a motor on what I have put forth. I did not want to test it this way, but what do you do.

OMG… this hilarious. You probably have more power/torque under 2,800 than a stock engine at peak.

I wasn’t implying that was the problem…just simply asking.

So this a failure of the engine because of bad luck or from forced induction? Or combo?

I have a failed rocker arm, and my forced induction still allows me to daily drive it without damaging it any further.

I have not posted my dyno runs anywhere but I know of one from one of the guys I work with and he was making 325 ftlbs around 1800, just sayin lol

Sorry if I come off abrasive, was not my intent. It is all cool. The forced induction gets a bad rap on these engines. This is that gray area that sucks going this route as this is a known failure point on the pentastar but how do you get Jeep to own up to it when there is an SC on it and would magnuson cover something like this as it is a known failure point?

I am ok with it. I know I will fix it more than right and get back to doing burnouts faster than anyone else can do it for me.

I bought the cams and rocker assemblies for one side for 189 dollars.

Valve cover gasket set 45 dollars

Cam tools 62 dollars.

So I am ruffly into it for 300 bucks and I am doing the over kill method replacing the whole side.

Don’t some of the superchargers provide an engine warranty, what supercharger are you running?

He’s running magnusson.
Likely no warranty as Dave is running his own custom tune and different pulley I believe.

Yeah I did all my own work. On top of that I don't believe this would ve Magnuson's fault even if I left it stock and had it installed.

Lastly I don't mind doing my own work. I know it will be done better than 99% of whatever else is out there to do it for me.

Someone really needs to get into the adtermarket of valvetrain atuff for these.!

So here are some screen shots of me out testing to figure out the issue. You can look at the indescrepencies in airflow and aircharge. Then the ignition problems. The first time the control fixed the issue. The second time it began counting misfire, the it maxed out locked the cams and fuel cooled the cylinders and registered a fault. Then it operated in a safe state until I keyed off and it resets

Hmmm yes Dave :movember: That blue squiggly line is defiantly bad, what bout the magenta like that's not so squiggly? We should probably adjust that to be more squiggly like the blue line.

ShadowsPapa you think the pink line is ok?

Hmmm I think BEER is the answer! I'll be over here if ya need help with the linethingymajiggy Dave.
