Needed components to piece together 2-2.5 inch lift kit?

What I plan on doing is this:

- Mopar kit
- F/R track bars
- Front LCA geometry correction brackets
- Driveshaft center bearing spacer


DIY install so total cost will be less than 2 grand. I'll measure driveshaft and pinion angles at some point and get control arms if I feel the need. This setup will be good enough for me to stuff a pizza cutter 35 on a sport s on the stock wheel (I'm 99% sure) . I do plan on front sway bar discos so I'll have to do a little testing to see what things look like at full drop/full stuff and if I need to do a little tuning in some areas.

Many opinions on lift kits here, but the Mopar kit is pretty good for what you get.
This is what I settled on for my JTRD. The trackbars and geo brackets will be from Rock Jock.

I went the frankenlift route myself for a 2” lift

Eibach f/r 2” springs (~$350)
Bilstein 5100s (~350)
Mopar lift lower front control arms ($60 for both)
Synergy track bar (250)
Teraflex rear track bar relocation kit (~100..?)
Mopar 2” sway bar extension. (~$60 for all four)
Metalcloak bumpstops and front coil isolator (~$100)
Total: (~$1270)

When I was all in, the Aev kit was about $200 more. If I was to do it again, I would just get the Aev kit. The track bar and the track bar relocation kit we’re a nice addition though.

There are more spring options on the market now too so you can dial in what you are looking for out of weight capacity too. Dobinson USA (Aussie company similar to arb) and aev are selling their springs separate from kits now.

You could also get some Rubi take off springs and shocks. Add Teralex front spacer and Daystar rear 3/4” spacer. Plus add the lca’s from the Mopar lift kit. That will net you 2” and be able to clear some 35’s. There’s a few threads about that set up and people seem happy with it.
Have seen people doing this and contemplating this route as well - would also allot me more $ to put in other mods I want to do as well (front fenders, step bar etc.) would you use the 1 inch spacer or 1.5 spacer in the front with this set up?

Now that I'm thinking about it if you add the rear 3/4" you'd want to do the full 1.5"

Thanks for that take - as other members have said on the thread, it's almost not worth reinventing the wheel/spend more $ in the long run and risk of non-compatable parts. Starting to see that more now. Appreciate everyone's feedback. Very helpful.

Hello JGF members

Looking to lift my 2021 Gladiator Willys 2-2.5 inches here soon to accommodate 35 inch tires . If I went the route of "piecing together" a 2-2.5 inch lift myself (opposed to buying one ready to go off the rack) what are the minimum components I would need to accomplish this? Would like to use springs (at least for the front end lift) and not spacers. & open to input if its worth getting a rear spring or just using a spacer since the rear lift is minimal. Don't want to get anything more than I need but also don't want to be missing any required components lifting 2-2.5 inches: need new sway bars for this? bump stops? etc.? This is my first time lifting any truck I have owned, so sorry in advance if this is a newb question/already has been covered on the forum. Also not ruling out buying a 2-2.5 lift off the rack if that makes more sense based off feedback. I just think its kind of fun to make things you own. Thanks for the help.

If your goal is to be able to add 35’s, I’d just swap the fenders to the Mopar high line units for a rubicon. This way, you’re set if you want to do more in the future. You may be able to source take off rubicon springs and shocks cheaply after that. I’m assuming by your tag name your looking mostly for the aesthetics.

Originally, I went the route of piecing my lift together by picking up a few parts from fellow forum members. I ended up purchasing control arms from Clayton and have replaced all the odd components with Clayton. It just seems to work better now that all the parts are a matching set, so to speak. Just my $.02.

Why fixed length arms and relocation brackets?

I’d rather have adjustable arms and no brackets.
The geo brackets will keep the stock ride. As the arms will not be as steep of an angle. Later on, I'm planning on getting all of the Rock Jock arms. The 2" Mopar lift will do me for now. Haven't decided on what my final height will be.

The 4WD shop that did my JK is going to do this on my Gladiator once the salt is off the roads up here (hopefully in April but this is Minnesota so it could be May). This is similar to my JK build and it drives nice. They tend to piece it together with parts they had good luck with vs getting one complete kit. I was originally thinking of the Mopar 2” lift kit but they encouraged me not to go that way.

BDS 2" Kit (all 4 springs and supporting box component kit)
Rough Country V2 Shocks 259.95/pair
JKS Caster Correction brackets
Single Rough Country V2 Steering Stabilizer
JKS adjustable track bar
Teraflex rear track bar bracket
Adjustable rear lower control arms - Metalcloak (optional)
Plus Rear .75" coil spring spacers - Daystar

You don’t need brackets for that small of a lift. Nice shocks will take care of the ride.

Arm angle does not have nearly as big of an impact on ride as many people lead you to believe. Don’t get me wrong, there is a point where it becomes excessive. But that’s in the 6-8”+ range.

Ask Currie about their thoughts on drop brackets or long arms.
