Just like the title says...I am about to purchase a lift for my JTRD. I was looking at 3.5's, but have decided I want to get a 4.5 to gain that little bit more height in the center of that long wheel base.

I would love some opinions, and to hear about some experiences. TIA!

Hello Adam, I have a 21 JTRD and I went with the Clayton 4.5 inch front and 3.5 inch rear overland set up. Complete control arms, which are bloody massive if I might add. I got the Rock Jock Currie tie rod and drag link as well. It makes the diesel sit just perfect. The kit comes with the panhard bars as well. Everything completely adjustable. I ordered the geometry correction brackets from another supplier and they are still on back order till sometime in February. Just want to set the control arms at a lower angle for the larger hits. They make the suspension work much better. I used a Rock Jock spacer on the rear hanger bearing of the drive shaft to get a better angle on the universals. CHEERS

Thanks for responding! I ended up going with the MC gamechanger, just based on my experience with their customer service, and the experience of my immediate group that runs with MC. The clayton looks great though!

this will have the Rocksport shocks, Evo 4.5 HD springs, Adams Driveshaft, track bars, UCA and LCA's, etc.

Ill make sure to post about it! I have read about some issues with sagging with those springs, so if that happens, I might be looking at the RK ones.

Why did you go with the different heights? To eliminate rake?

Exactly, the truck sits high and level. I have the Warn winch plate and Sherpa winch so I wanted to account for there weight as well. Just have not put them on yet.

I'm hoping to keep the rake...so maybe the weight form the engine will keep it a bit lower, since front and back are both 4.5

I guess bumper and winch will be next for me too, once I get the lift installed! Have you had a sherpa before? Why are you looking at them as opposed to Badlands, or Warn? This post is the first time I have heard of them.

Give me a few more days and Ill tell you lol

I started install yesterday, and finished up today. Overall....not bad. I didnt run into any issues removing/installing anything...although the locker disconnect was difficult, and the front trackbar was difficult to connect frame side.

I have to solve one issue though. The rear springs do not seat...I dont know if because MC substituted their springs for the evo ones, I didnt get the required isolators, or if I just got the wrong rear springs period. Ill call tomorrow, and have my alignment tuesday, so Im hoping to have it all squared away then.

Otherwise, it looks great, and I like the height. Ill post some pictures later this week. I think when I get back in to correct the springs, Ill add a puck, because the rake is gone.

Maybe someone looking at this picture can provide some insight:

The top of the spring is too thin to seat up top...wrong springs? Need special isolators? Or am I missing something else?

Alright, end of the story:

Was able to short order some Rubicon Express 4.5 inch rear springs in time to make my alignment the next day. Here is the finished product, MetalCloak, Evo fronts, RubExp rear:

We tried both ways, just got a picture of it this way. The spring was for the JL, which is totally different than the JT rear.
