First Chopoed Bed Gladiator I’ve Seen In Person

This was in TN last Friday. I had to haul ass to catch up. Pretty sweet but I find myself wishing for the opposite… a foot longer bed!

He must have been on his way to Home Depot to buy another can of spray foam for the end of the passenger side to "finish" this classy conversion .

Well there are folks stretching their wranglers to be gladiator length now we have gladiators shortening to be wrangler length. I watch the epic family road trip where they stretched both of their wranglers and just kept thinking why not sell and buy a gladiator.

Enclosed storage area connected internally to the cabin vs external storage area. It's similar to how GM makes two different lengths of Tahoe/Suburban/Escalade/Yukon (all really the same vehicle) and several different bed lengths and cab configurations for the Silverado/Sierra, all on the same platform.
Stellantis/FCA/Jeep make one gladiator and 2 wranglers, so people who want something different get creative. Oh, I get it. But I wouldn't do it (myself) unless I had the skill @Kindafearless had on her build. I don't.

There is another way to do it that does not loose bed space. Pull the hitch, pull the spare, remove the rear bumper, then cut on bed sides on angles up from the back of the rear wheel trim at an angle up to the the bottom of the frame. Maybe a 40 -45 degree cut, Then Angle Iron fab a new bumper up high. May loose the tailgate and the spare and the hich but you can gain one heck of a departure. Crawl under and brainstorm and you will see what I see. eventually these will be old enough to cut. Not for me now or maybe even later, but there is a nice way to add departure. I'll look for 1.5 year old pics. I could also see a large skid plate added to that space yo just created. Edit.. Oh Yeah, have to modify and or relocate the exhaust.

Not my concern but the owner might have not finished up yet. Plus as others have said it might have been damaged already. Many CJ 8s got bobbed and many YJ's, TJ's and JK's stretched at least wheelbase... to the "XJ" wheelbase in fact, about same as LJ's and JKU. So who's to judge?

I was gonna say the same thing. I personally wouldn’t chop a truck (it’s a truck for a reason) but she did a superb job. This guy is a hack. She is more of an artist in my opinion.

I don’t think anyone is “judging“ anything so much as giving an opinion on what they see as it presently is and truthfully it looks like shit. Now maybe he isn’t done and maybe the end result will be epic but as it is now… ??
