Aux Switches - Can A Dealer Install?

So I messed up the pins when swapping them out... what toolkit / pin remover I’d you use @MGladiator83 / @Gunnuts ? I broke the wire ( and the one next to it) with the metal connector still inside... Need to figure out what to do next... this was a major PITA...

instructions and video were wrong on some of the clip attachments and directions. and the grommet firewall was brutal... I am 6’3”...I can’t fit my hands in those tight places.

Sorry, I've been out for a while. That sucks.....I'm sure you have the issue resolved by now. I have a Craftsman kit. Has a lot of uses.

Really it’s not that bad at all. Hardest part was getting the harness through the rubber grommet. Everything else was straight forward. Removing the pin from the wire harness I purchased a pin remover for 15$ to make it easy. Everything else is plug and play, numbered and just plugging stuff in.

Would you mind linking the pin remover you used?

New Gladiator owner as of yesterday! The one I drove off the lot had "almost" every option I wanted except the Aux Switch package. Is it possible for a Jeep dealer to install it after the fact? I am hoping the basic wiring already exists and it's only a matter of putting the switch in and connecting....any ideas?

I had the Aux switches installed by my local dealer just a few weeks ago. I do not recommend doing this yourself. You will see responses from forum members about how easy it is BUT if you ever have any electrical issues with your Jeep, you will be told that the problems are because you added the switches yourself and somehow f***ed up the wiring system and your warranty is voided. That is the #1 reason I had the dealer do the install for me - it is under warranty. Expensive?? - YES. I paid a total of $900. But I will also say they did a great job. I have since wired my on board compressor and winch to the switches. Next will be off-road driving lights.

I don't think I've seen anyone say it was easy, it's definitely a pain, but with all the info on this forum that we've posted with our experiences and guides it's doable in a few hours. I think I bought mine from BAM for around $300, paid the dealer $60 to flash it after, so all in for around $400. If you paid the dealership $900 I'd say that's worth the effort, but I also don't mind working on stuff like this.

One is either confident in their abilities to do it or not. Jeep Gladiator is the last vehicle one should get if worried about if add on accessories are going to be voiding warranties unless they are installed by the dealer.

I am getting my switch pac in the next 2 days and am going to install it looks very doable for me . What I would like is some pics of the wiring under the hood with ones Factory installed and ones after the fact ! I think I can run the wires in the plastic trench mounted on the fire wall..would like to see picks both ways..Factory,after the fact.. Thanks

I ordered the kit for $289 and installed it myself. There are a few frustrating things to deal with in the install. The wiring was wrong in the instructions, the wiring was hard to pass through the firewall boot, the zipties were difficult to secure.......
I think I needed to buy a set of picks for the wiring but other than that, pretty straight forward. Once done, you'll need the dealer to activate it or you if you have a Tazer Mini you can do it.
If you're going to wire something up to them in the future, you'll probably do the work. So I would say do it yourself. It's a bit of work but not that bad. I have some pics on my build thread but I read over the instructions and followed this video:

The wiring for the connector on the switches was wrong in the printed instructions? What wiring did you use? This could be my and @Fishee 's problem.

One thing I found odd was this pic. It shows something in/grayed out in #5 but no wire listed there

FWIW, the OEM wire diagram does not show pin out for pin 5 having a wire going to it.

I installed it myself and dealer charged $46 to flash. Took time but not to hard. Instructions suck, have phone handy and watch videos.

Yes, a dealership can install and activate the OEM Aux Switch Bank.

In my case, I did the install myself and activated them using my Tazer.

The hardest bit was de-pinning one of the wires behind the kick panel. I was able to get the wire out but damaged the slot.
