I used jscan - I don't recall if it was a list of options or what,
but here is what the config says currently based on a log from AlfaOBD ->
Dynamic Tire Circumference (All or Rear) (0-65534 mm): 2508.000 mm

I started with the common measure like you said, but rolling diameter can be different (and is, as it's how indirect TPMS works) so I tweaked until things matched.

Interesting. I don’t have that many options with the Tazer, that I’m aware of. I measured from the ground and saw almost a perfect 36”. They’re 36.5 off the ground at 35psi. The closest I could choose was around 35.94” if I recall correctly.

I'm OCD - extremely picky and a perfectionist, as my son and both friends call me.
So I was shooting for as close as possible, exact if possible.
That's me, my truck, my recommendation - but - that isn't my truck. If it drives well, shifts well, whatever and you like how it's doing..........
If you traded it in and I ended up buying it, yeah, I'd probably move mountains to fine-tune it, so don't let me make you think you are doing a bad thing.
I just have real trouble getting around anything less. I have to live with it, my family puts up with it, and it scares most others off.

You did what seems to be the very best starting point. The measurements do vary with PSI and we'll assume your PSI is right for you and your truck and those tires.
This is why someone can't say "what number should I put in........" because right on your truck, the weight of your truck, your tires, and your PSI - you get that number. The same tires on a lighter or heavier truck will change that.
And there I go again..........

I am too, and I respect that about you. I’m tying to get closer. Just haven’t figured how with the Tazer yet. I hate the Tazer btw. It’s the only recommendation from the shop that did the lift, that I don’t like. I set the settings I need, then unplug it. It kills all the gremlins it seems to create.

2020 JTR with tow package. I have 35x 12.50. 17 Toyo RT. Had same problem your having. I just reheated to 4:88. Plan on when these tires wear out, to move to 37’s. I love the 4:88 with the 35’s. Does 8th gear almost all the time on the freeway now.

Sure, but not your gear ratio. The autos actually tolerate lower ratios a little better since they have 8 gears to the manual’s 6. And autos can choose with auto stick mode as well.

I've got a 2022 JTRD with 37's (BFG 37x12.50x17 KM3's, and 2 inch Mopar lift, dealer installed, plus 4.88, dealer installed) , runs in 8th gear on the freeway, all the time, even uphill, at 75 mph+. Runs right at 2,000 rpm at 68 mph. Love it. Beautiful! Wouldn't bother with 4.56. This suits me just fine, until my Tesla Cybertruck arrives, then, it will instantly be, "Buh, bye, JT, hello CT3!"

The world's going all electric, and faster than anyone ever thought!

WooHoo! Love Elon Musk, baby!
Your dealer installed the new gears? Are they covered under warranty anymore?

You'll have to keep changing the size in Tazer to get the speedometer to be accurate.
I see 7&8 in my Max Tow on the 33mt here in Michigan all the time.

IF they are MOPAR parts, they are covered under MOPAR warranty. Jeep dealers warrant their labor. If they are not MOPAR gear sets, then the warranty of course is for the supplier of the gears.
The dealer still warrants their work - if they messed up and got something too tight, too loose, or there was damage due to their boo-boo, it's on them.
That is how the local Jeep dealer described it to me when I asked about a gear change (which I decided against in my case)

Anyone else hardly seeing 7or 8 gear?
Mine is a 2022 with the max tow automatic with the Mopar lift and 35x12.5r17 M/T tires. I have the Tazer mini Jl and my speedometer is dead on with GPS. But still i don’t hit 7 gear very often and 8th is rare. Any suggestions???
Changing the calibration in the computer isn't going to do anything wrt 7th or 8th gear.

Jeep Gladiator 6th gear most of the time. PXL_20220316_112738951.MP
Running 37 12.5 17 Kanti Trail hogs on mine and I always see 8th and 7th on the interstate. I'm currently averaging 17.9 mpg 50/50 mix of City/HWY driving. Mine sits like this, 2.5 inch readylift with Rubicon front springs installed. It's a Max Tow as well and I still got 4.10 stock gears.

Not sure how you drive it but they aren't race cars. I let the start/stop do it's thing and my tires are only 72lbs a piece. I'm also on stock wheels and I put a full width bumper on mine to close in the gap between the fenders and the bumper to keep wind resistance from getting up inside the fenders.Speedo is dead on according to friends cruiser police radar, a few GPS apps not linked to the truck by Bluetooth and those radar sign things they sit out to tell you how fast your going. I used JScan to get the speedo right

The more I hear it, the more I want to try Jscan instead of the Tazer.

Tazer has live options that aren't on jscan. Tazer also receives updates.

I pulled my Tazer after setting vehicle settings. The live settings aren’t worth the bugs that come with them.
