Have had the canopy since Early January 22 and Gladiator since Late December 21. Still have a bunch of stuff to work out. But plan to have most of it dialed in the next 3 months. That way we can do our big trip starting August to October this year.

Yes I’m referring to the sides. I looked in to the ok4wd unit but it’s way too small of a window that I want I’ll keep on looking, might go to an rv salvage yard and see what I can find, will keep you posted

If you go custom you’ll also have to make a custom brace inside to surround the window and strengthen the door since the horizontal support would be removed. Just be aware of this as you look. I am aware that the kit from ok4wd came with such a fitment support for the inside as well.

Yes I’m aware of that and have some plans of how to add some strength to the wing, still undecided about doing both or just one, one for sure

Anyone do any cool updates to their rig or camper system?

Due to family stuff and job hunting, my only update has been the new high capacity AEV diesel coils. Swapped them in about 500 miles ago and so far, big improvement in handling over the standard capacity AEV coils have been running prior.

Hoping to get out and use this thing soon.

Dobinsons HD coils on the back and a rehear to 4.88. Huge difference.

With the exception of flipping my propane tank and interior build to the passenger side, I truly think my build is done. Zero cost in those changes, but should pay huge dividends in not banging my head on the propane tank when releasing the bike rack to open the door.

Gobi Gladiator is nearing build date... looking to order an ACCC next week. Maybe if I'm lucky I can have the camper installed with some summer left over.

Question for folks here (as I pick out my order options) - what's the point of the solid blackout layer of the window screen kits? Bug screen, I get. I can't figure out why I'd want to zip down a solid fabric layer instead of just closing the back or side door.

I've been assuming I'll skip the Alu-Cab window kits and just fab up some simple bug screens, and stick them up with velcro. Don't see the need for the zippers, or the blackout panel. But curious if someone disagrees with that idea

I'm wondering how those compare to the Dobinson springs
The canvas panels are for insulation, and do an amazing job.
Agreed!
