Doghouse Gen II Overland Trailer

So as a few of you know I built a custom overland trailer from scratch last year. Well I sold it along with everything on and in it to a local.
Well yesterday I picked up this unit. Its a brand new unit that again will be another project for me. Includes a slide out kitchen with single burner and sink, 12v water pump with 65L fresh water tank , exterior kitchen led light, interior main box light, front tool box, side storage box and rear mounted aux fuel. Suspension is dual A arm coil with shocks. Tent is the OVS Nomadic 4, just not mounted yet. Also included is a 270 batwing awning. Cruisemaster hitch finishes off the front. I will do a better walk around in time. Plan is a rear slide out kitchen/prep area and rear slide for the fridge. Battery will be upgraded to a 100ah lithium and on board charger. Other changes im sure will come with time. Im considering bedlining the interior and doing thicker carpet as well. Exterior will be vinyl wrapped in matte orange with a topo pattern that I will be doing myself. Potentially another diesel heater for are fall and winter trips.

Very nice looking Trailer. That is going to be a great build. We are waiting for ours to ship later this month.

Some updates after playing around for a week or so.
Full double slide out kitchen complete with pantry and cutting/prep board. Pantry us side entry and the door doubles as prep space. Dometic slide takes on fridge duties with an Alpicool CF45 with LG compressor. Swing out tailgate has a custom made “topo” map burned into the woodgrain and complete with drop down table. I was also able to switch the burner/sink combo to the passenger side(camp side). Boxes are carpeted and just need to finish off the aluminum edging. 5lb propane mount from Tactical Overland finish in raw aluminum handles the burners with a two way splitter. Mud flaps were required as per our local laws and to finish it all off was the addition on the OVS Nomadic 4 rtt complete with awning. Future mods are still to come but the big stuff is about 95% completed.

No its from China. The quality is not bad overall, but if you don’t mind tinkering and upgrading things, its a decent platform. If you want buy and go, I would look at something like Off Grid, Expedition or Turtleback.

Some finishing touches with aluminum trim for added durability. Added bottom butcher board faceplate. Few cooking items to show the space in the pull out. Holds all our cooking items. Turned out decent.

A nice heavy coating of urethane on the exposed wood parts (shelves, flip down "table", etc.) will help those last longer, nice looking trailer

Rear slide out tabletop is fully coated. About 8 or 9 coats, lost count. Fully cured then polished to a nice shine. Also added carpet to the rear swing out door to clean things up. Today I’m working on the storage shelf of the front tongue box. Mounting my quick fists/axes/hatchet.

Task #34 completed. Mounting for the splitter/hatchet and pick. Also some room for likely the first aid kit or tool bag. Light mounted under to illuminate the box.

Off grid was my fist choice. Gave up on that. To damn expensive. Like what 30k now? Turtleback if I wanted a rooftop tent I'd just buy one. Going Ovrlnd camper brand. Best value for the money I think.
