I run both set ups depending on what I'll be doing. I run a roof top tent on the Gladiator or I can pull my Wildernest topper on my Jeep Comanche trailer.

I love my trailer, it keeps the Jeep Offroad ready, allows me to setup base camp, and have a few more creature comforts I wouldn’t have if I just built the truck as an overlander. Im only about 12k Into it, it has over a thousand miles Offroad, all parts are readily replaceable or repairable, simple but very efficient suspension design. Incredibly comfortable for sleeping, I’ll take hard walls over a tent any day, 20 gallons of water, solar. For a budget friendly trailer, you can’t beat hiker trailers.

Definitely trailer for us. Our trailer can go where the Jeep goes (now the Gladiator). We can haul plenty of stuff to enhance our experience and set up a base camp to explore from if we like. We have towed ours all over the western states, 6 times over the Rubicon, over the Dusey-Ershim, over the Mojave Road, Arizona Strip and Toroweap, and it has very much improved our long distance capabilities.

I had a trailer for a year or so and I ended up getting rid of it due to the maneuverability in the woods up here. Also got tired of the storage and extra maintenance. Personal opinion obviously

This is what I did. Oldish 1997 ex city works trailer. Crazy 3” square tubed frame, incredibly overbuilt and perfect for our needs. Best thing about projects like these: cheap, fun to build and custom to whatever you plan to do.

I am also planning to have two setups depending what I am doing. Attached are some pics of my brand new Highland Expedition Outfitters (HEO Trailers) Model T 3.5 trailer. This aluminum trailer is superbly constructed and has all the features I need. Dealing with Kate and Jeff at HEO was excellent. They quickly responded to all my questions and contuously send me pics of the build in-progress. Jeff is an exceptional craftsman, who takes pride in his quality work. If you want to meet the person that will actually build your trailer talk to Jeff and Kate.

Added my fridge and fridge slide yesterday. Fridge is Alpicool CF55 and slide is Joytutus cheapy. All in $600 cdn. Used the fridge for a 5 day trip and able to use my Jackery 240 and 120w to keep it running. So nice having a fridge rather than a ice filled cooler.
