This. I've performed countless oil changes in all of my vehicles and I've never experienced this. Plus, they should be able to tell by the cleanliness of the oil that it has been regularly changed.

I'm a spreadsheet nerd and have a record for every oil change I've done (weight, brand, date, etc.), but have never had to use it. I agree with others that you might want to jot down some approximations on a spreadsheet/document so if you do need some type of maintenance history going forward (can't hurt).
I have it in my phone for every time I changed it. They want receipts for the last 20,000 miles. I’m going to try another dealership. If no luck I’m trading in. I’ve had so many issues with service and problems with this thing. Had an electrical issue that I had to go back and forth between 2 dealerships. 1st one had it 2 weeks and couldn’t figure it out, then I took to another one and they had it for almost 2 months. Then the back window leaks, and other issues. Jeep has been the worse vehicle Ive owned and the customer service is terrible

Well that’s fraud, so I’d advise against that.

You don’t typically need receipts, just records. If you can come up with approximate dates and write them down on paper and include the service performed that’s usually enough.

I would also consider moving to a different dealership if they refuse to help you.
I gave them dates and the mileage and they said that’s not good enough

Sorry they’re giving you such a hard time. Sounds like it is time to contact @JeepCares and get towed to drive to a different service center.

It will most certainly be the last jeep I own, probably dodge brand vehicle too. I’m a die hard dodge fan. Last few vehicles have been Chrysler 300 srt8, Dodge Charger Daytona 392 and then this rubicon gladiator . The last 2 vehicles have been a headache and yes I know all car brands have their issues I understand that. I’m just having bad luck with dodge brand vehicles and it’s sucks because I love them. I buy a lot of mopar stuff and even name my pets after mopar

I tear the lid off the box the oil filter came in, has the part number on it, write the date and mileage and put it in the green Jeep bag with the manual each time I change the oil.

I drove a 2500 Cummins Dodge over the last 20yrs before i got my JT, for warranty purposes i was told by the service manager to keep all receipts of the parts i change and the oil & filters receipts. So that's what i did so when i had an issue with the fuel pump they asked for my receipts to show that i used mopar fuel filters and they did the warranty work. Rule of thumb is always keep receipts because all they need is an excuse to not do warranty work and then its a fight with the dealership.

I get my oil and filters from Amazon so I can search and print those purchases and use those as proof.

And fingers crossed, have not had any reason to take my JT to the dealer.

this just reminded me of a tip I heard years ago. When you get a new vehicle, start a new email address using your VIN @ whatever.com specifically for that vehicle, and keep everything related there.

Good spot to keep not only oil change receipts, but service records, receipts for modifications in case of an insurance total, etc.

It's best to give that email address to as few companies as possible to avoid spam, and mostly use it as a forwarding bin for organization. Also not a bad tool to hand over to the new owner if you end up selling private party.

I started the email address for my ordered Gobi Mojave right before posting this. it's just my vin @ gmail so there's absolutely no doubt what vehicle that email address belongs to.

Have they diagnosed the weird noise? They shouldn't be asking for oil change records unless it's an internally lubricated engine part failure and there's evidence of neglect.

Having been a service writer in my younger days, I can absolutely tell you that this is the industry norm.

Otherwise people would do nothing and then claim that they did their own oil changes. If they had half a brain, they would change the oil just before bringing it in so they could say "see, clean oil".

The bottom line is that it is not unreasonable for Jeep to require some documentation of your oil changes for them to honor their warranty.

I've owned a lot of brands of cars and I've never seen a specific brand's dealers hate their customers as much as Jeep dealers.
So true. I've heard arguments from what how can you compare them to higher end dealers to other lame excuses. Bottom line 50-60k vehicle = above and beyond customer experience. Not this fear based crap shoot, blame the customer for everything happening now.

OP says he provided docs and has in his phone. The dealer said not good enough.
