So, it’s purely a tire wear issue…The tire will crown under normal pressure causing premature wear on the center tread and a smaller contact patch which reduces cornering and braking tread contact. That is why.

Not entirely. Smaller wear section is correlated to undersized contact patch which is a safety concern, as well, in limited traction environments (rain, snow). In order to spread that contact patch back to a "regular" contact would require running a lower pressure. That would wreck your fuel economy. So the cons outweigh the pros with a poor mans beadlock. So, it’s purely a tire wear issue…
Gotcha. I was actually more concerned with any safety issues airing down Offroad…Not entirely. Aired down, you actually hold the bead better.Gotcha. I was actually more concerned with any safety issues airing down Offroad…
Ahh, OK, thank youAired down, you actually hold the bead better.
2022 Gladiator Rubicon. Just put Nitto Recon Grapplers 35/12.50/17 using stock wheels. Plenty of clearance. I don’t notice any difference in overall drive ability. About 4 lbs heavier than stock Wildpeaks. Based on RPMs and associated MPH, I expect mpg to be about the sameI am considering doing this right out of the box on the stock rims. I know they’re about 10lbs heavier each than the stock tires, any loss in power or mpg? Any pics of your setup?
sup bro, do you have an extra 2” lift from Mopar of just the original factory lift… Am asking cause I have a Mojave and it has the 2.5“ lift from stock, and want to run the 35’s…. will I need to add a 2” lift to ensure no problems?BFG KO2s, 35x12.5, on stock Rubicon wheels. Almost 9,000 miles and no issues. I do have the Mopar 2-inch lift, too.![]()

I have the extra 2-inch Mopar lift, but it’s not needed for 35s on a Rubicon or Mojave. You’ll clear them no problem.sup bro, do you have an extra 2” lift from Mopar of just the original factory lift… Am asking cause I have a Mojave and it has the 2.5“ lift from stock, and want to run the 35’s…. will I need to add a 2” lift to ensure no problems?
