If you have one. And one that'll fit a gladiator. Mine won't fully fit (too long for the door to close), and lots of folks just don't have garages.
Well his pic shows to have a garage. And lets not pretend that A LOT of people don't keep 500 dollars of shit in their garages and 100K in vehicles outside of it. You are WAY less likely to have a vehicle stolen from inside a garage.

You don't have to adopt my logic here...but I'd personally say that if you cannot afford to garage it then you likely cannot afford a vehicle...or at least you likely should have a vehicle nobody would want to steal. Or be OK with it being stolen (thats what insurance is for).

Wow, I didn’t think that dog looked that heavy! Are giant schnauzers good pets? I have thought about getting a Rottweiler, but I liked my Aunt’s mini schnauzers years ago.
The very best of pets. Friendly, especially kid friendly, great social skills and protective as hell. And yes, of our four, the largest (Ivan) was 150 plus pounds (Russian Derivation). depends on the breeder and the derivation. Females are somewhat smaller. Atti is on a diet so he is currently unhappy and at over 120 pounds.

Not a matter of affordability for everyone. But even if it is, so what?
Where I live, garages are rare. The houses are all from 1800s. The only reason I have one is because the garage was a carriage house before. Hence why it's too short for the gladiator, but the Wrangler fits. None of the neighbors have one, just us. Where I lived when I lived in Texas, no one had garages, only open carports and driveways. I'm talking the entire region of East Texas. Full enclosed garages just weren't really a thing. Also, a lot of houses with garages only have one car garages, and most families have more than one car, too.

That truck is already South of the border with all numbers scratched off! It will sell for a couple of hundred k...
I flew B-52s for many years, was an Air Liaison Officer (ALO) and travelled South of the border on special missions. I would see a lot of Harleys and F-150's with all the numbers scratched off. Even fake HD dealers selling the stolen bikes like a true HD dealer. The prices were mind-boggling.
My brother Thomas recently died of cancer after many years as a career Air Force Senior NCO. He was stationed at March AFB for awhile with the B-52 simulators and let me sit in one. Not sure where and what he was assigned to do after that (classified). Thank you for your service, T. Thompson, U.S. Army 1967-70.

I live in TX and frequent East TX all the time. Thats not true that the entire region is that way.

Point is...theft is a real thing. 750K cars are stolen a year in the US. Its up to the owner to secure the rig.

I'm from Tyler, and the New Chapel Hill area (Smith County). I also have family in the rural area surrounding Dallas in North Texas (Kaufman County). Few homes had garages. Newer houses or developments may be more likely to have them. Where I lived, and where many people live, there is no garage. Let's not victim blame. Lots of people don't have garages. Lots of people have more cars than garage storage spaces, since many homes, if built with a garage, have only one bay. Some people live in apartments or condos. Some people only have street parking.

The only thing I agree with here is that that's why we have insurance. Everyone doesn't park in a garage. Everyone doesn't have one, and just because someone "can't afford" a garage doesn't mean they should have their stuff stolen. Your car shouldn't get stolen just because you park it outside.

OP, very sorry for your loss...And I agree, it is disgracefully how easy these things can be stolen. Between what you experienced and the fact that the FOB design is also a disgrace with more and more vehicles across the industry being robbed that way every day, not to mention in jeeps case no hood lock and no gas cap lock (a sign of Jeep "arrogance" IMO), the jeeps might as well come with a sign - "Steel ME Please!". Or perhaps come up with a new Jeep "Rating Badge", like "Theft-Friendly" and mount it next to the trail rated and desert rated badges as the case may be  .

Yep, there are some who say nothing can stop a determine thief so why do anything to prevent it, and that does have some truth, but that doesn't mean the manufacturer's should make it easy for them - lol!

I am glad I can park mine in the garage every night.
Are you treating your jeep better than your special half?

Jeep is still a vehicle/ tool at the end of the day, if someone wants it, they will have it.
I dont care, take mine and insurance will pay for it!

It is just plain odd that you would even expect me to justify my position on this...Well, here it is:

Self defeatist attitude doesn't work for me, I have never lived my life that way. And just on principle, neither does letting thieves steel from me...Using your logic as a reason is really just an excuse to be complacent. With your POV, which of course you are welcome too, might as well leave your front door unlocked on your house (after all as folks with your POV say for justification: "can't stop a determined thief"). Put a sign up take whatever you want just don't hurt us. I'm sure you will get plenty of "friendly" thieves who will accommodate you.

The day after I picked up my Gladiator I added hood locks. Mainly to keep my batteries and LED lights safe….and now the jeep itself.

My last Wrangler (TJ) had “The Plug” installed. Now that Iloved!!!! Good luck stealing the Jeep with that. Properly installed it is AWESOME! I have put it on my other cars over the years as it is not some stupid alarm piece. You could leave the keys on the seat without the doors on the car and without the matching unique plug pin the car still will not go as the plug is required to complete the electrical circuits within the car for starting.

They have held contests to see if someone could steal the vehicle with the plug and nope. You have to spend hours tracing all the wires in the engine bay as it is camouflaged etc. Sure they could tow away your JEep but easier to move on.

Most thieves do not even know what the Plug is so have it installed somewhere reachable but somewhat obscure. Even if they figure out the obscure gray plug is involved and cut the wire right at the plug it does not do a bypass letting them steal it.

That so sucks they took it.
Jeep Gladiator STOLEN from my driveway this morning! New Jeeps are crazy easy to steal apparently... 1655483067990

Things shouldn't be stolen, true. It sucks...but its reality. And parking them outside is just bait for car thieves, thats also reality.

I stand by my garage logic. Not everyone has to agree.

My uncle had a completely restored 66 mustang 289 hipo 4 speed, and he would remove the entire distributor if he was traveling (or coming to visit us).

Opinions on the easiest way to manually disable one of our new vehicles so scumbags, sorry, thieves with a computer (or whatever their process was) couldn’t accomplish this.

… I’m hoping ShadowsPaPa has a good idea ?
Pull a relay or two. Fuses can be replaced or improvised with a wire poked in the holes.
Pulling K03 or K06 or maybe both would prevent - or should prevent - starting, or cranking at all.
Very simple to test in the driveway. Take out one of the relays - the starter relay should prevent it from cranking at all.
