Today while having my coffee and waiting to change out a load of laundry,
Jeep Gladiator Truck starts on its own. imag
my truck starts in the garage by itself. I jump out of my chair and turn it off. Horn beeps and doors lock, I’m thinking WTF! After a minute I’m putting clothes in the dryer and noticed my key fob in my pants pocket Soaking wet. It was rolling around in the washer and activating. I’ve taken it apart and removed the battery to dry it out but cannot get those stupid little screws out To complete my tear down.

any suggestions?

Pour some salt into a bowl, set the fob on top with a napkin between it & the salt. Cover with plastic wrap, and let it set for several hours. The salt will pull the moisture out.
Just a thought.

Maybe since it's mostly taken apart you could try a hair dryer?

Stick it in a window sill that has direct sunlight for a day or two. Then douche it out with Isopropyl Alcohol that will dry out in a few minutes.

Could swear the rice trick was an old wives tale... doesn't work. Certainly doesn't for cell phones.

It does work, but realistically if the board fried, its fried. Once its really damaged, no amount of drying will fix it. If it didnt fry then drawing out moisture is so that when you do try it again you dont fry it or short it.
