Just added an aluminum bed rack. It’s made for a Toyota. The bed width is the same. Cut a little of the rack to get as close as possible to the cab.

I’ll be doing a dual battery set up centered on the rack.

Why not get a Wrangler if you're going to eat up about the entire bed with 1 tire? At least with the Wrangler you'd still have the storage space in the tailgate.

That is mentioned in the first post. I did not want a Gladiator. Had a JLURD first.

I’ve never liked the idea of off-roading with a tire hanging off the back. Always ended up in the cargo area of the Jeep. A 40/42 tire doesn’t fit so well in a JLU without major modes. A tire hanging off the back of a JLU is about the same amount of overhang as a JT.

I will in the future bobtail the JT. Currently I have 18x48x18 of open space with a 40/42 spare in the bed. The weight of the spare (#150) is well distributed over the axle, not behind.

I have grown to like the Gladiator vs the JLUR.
