Hi Jeep Gladiator SME's!

I am newer Mojave Gladiator 2022 owner that was preparing to do a few updates to my truck when I realized one of the "nice to haves" that I thought was entitled with this package series in my interior of the truck was a 115v outlet in the center console in the passenger side. As I poked around the console, it has the cut out plastic plug available to knockout where the outlet would have been installed, but in its current condition, from what I have researched around and spoken to the parts department at a local dealership, I may have all the correct parts to install. However, my hesitation has been in the actual competence in my local parts department team. I don't think they actually know anything about this particular unique problem I may have that started at the factory where most of the parts for this particular feature were available, but out of necessity to turn out vehicles for sale faster they patched the car with some of the components and not all. My questions below:
  1. Should I move forward with installing a console 115v outlet into the console with parts provided from Mopar? or will this be a custom job mod?
  2. I have the 4 Auxiliary Switch Group available on my jeep dash, (pardon my ignorance) would that then mean I do in fact have the inverter available within my console?
  3. Would this also mean buying parts for the truckbed 115v outlet be a waste resources despite having the trailer tow package?
And for reference here are the options I have installed in the truck and circled in red near the bottom is the line item "115v Outlet and Inverter DELETE". The acknowledgement that only the outlet and inverter was deleted from the package is vague in that it what isn't clear is IF all the other components are read to plug & play and with just buying that outlet are available within in the truck. Which is the core of my question.

Thank you for the help!

I understood it to be a big deal if you didn't start with the inverter. In your situation, I think parts got scarce for a time and that why you got the delete credit. Is just the inverter missing or is the wiring missing as well?

What I can say is that I thought it would be nice to have 115 in the bed. Parts were also hard to get for that job, at the time. So I gave up on the idea and installed 12vdc in the bed. I haven't had one day since where I wished I had 115v. The only time I even used my 115 outlet was to see if it worked.

BTW, 400 watts isn't much for practical uses. If you truly need 115vac, I think an aftermarket solution would be more useful.

Great examples here searching "inverter".

Adding the bed outlet is possible, if the inverter and interior outlet are already installed. Since the inverter and outlet were not installed, the odds of the necessary wiring hharnesses being there are not good. As mentioned, if 115 AC power is needed, installing an aftermarket inverter is a better route to take.

What @Mr._Bill said. You will probably be better off putting in your own aftermarket inverter and custom outlet install than go through the pain of trying to make a factory install job after the fact.

Very Helpful indeed! What I am curious about is why they have the plastic knockouts present especially in the interior of the trucks console. I guess I need to do some excavating but just don't know if it is a lost cause as it says the inverter is DELETED which I do not know is a core indicator that ALL the other vital components were not installed.

Is the only way of knowing that the wiring harness is missing is by popping out the plastic cut out in the backseat view of the console to see if that wiring exists? That is really the crux of me moving forward with any other part purchases.

The only way to tell is to go looking for the wiring. They might have had the truck wired and ready for the parts, when they didn't show up I doubt they would have cut the wiring and connectors out.

The cutout is there because they use the same center console on all the models. When the outlet is installed, the cutout is opened and the wiring connected.

The harness for the whole truck is laid out before production and modified based on the options ordered. If the delete decision was made before production started, then it is unlikely it would be there. If it was made on the line, due to unavailable parts, then the necessary sections of the main harness would be there. The only way to find out is to start dismantling the truck and searching for the wiring. Since they usually know parts availability before production is started, I would not expect the wiring to be there.

You will probably have to disconnect the whole console so it can be lifted to see if the wiring is underneath. Search online for a parts and wiring diagram before starting. There is probably a short harness needed that goes from under the console to the outlet location.

The wiring "might" be there as the inverter was a standard feature.

You could check the fuse box and see if fuse location F51 and F65 are terminated on both legs. Also, the factory inverter is located under the drivers steering wheel behind the knee panel and there should be two taped up connectors for it if wired.
