Crap - I Want to Change My Order

All these options are crazy.

I have a Mojave on order and am super excited about it. But... I made some mistakes ordering.

1. I wish that I would have gotten the 8.4" screen. I didn't realize that there were things that wouldn't show on the smaller screens. I figured they would just be, you know, smaller. Didn't realize that the capabilities were different.

2. Would have skipped the painted fenders. I always liked them on the JK but feel like the black fenders just look tougher.

And last but not least... If I had it to do over, I would wait and order a Sport S with Max Tow and a Diesel. In Gobi. Which isn't available, but that is what I would want. Spend the extra $6k I saved in better upgrades.

Well as of right now you still can’t get a diesel and max tow combo. The towing capabilities of a diesel is going to be slightly less than a max tow but not by much.

I ordered a Mojave too with the 7 in. What does the 8.4 in screen has that the 7 in. does not have?

The off-road pages, navigation (Don't care about that, Carplay has me covered) and some other remote connection/subscription features (don't care about those either) So really just the off road pages.

What sold me on the 8.4” compared to the 7” is the CarPlay. I test drive a Gladiator with the 7” screen and when I plugged my phone in to try the CarPlay, it did not fill up the whole screen. It was like a little box compared to the size of the screen. It looked ridiculous to me. In my head I wondered why they would do that... then I realized it was so the could up sell the 8.4” screen with navigation.

Having the navigation actually turned in to a pretty nice function when I am wheeling and there is no cell phone service.

I'm going look at Gobi a dealer has on the lot tomorrow. I was leaning back and forth towards Granite Cyrstal and Gobi but the Granite Crystal they have doesn't have the max tow. Its a Sport S. Has a 7" screen so will check it out. My current truck has the 8.4 Screen with nav and I barely use it cause I am always on Waze when driving in the city.

interestingly, android auto fills the entire 7" screen. i wonder if there's a firmware update in the future that will fix carplay.

you can swap out the 7 inch for the 8.4 when you get it... i did works great... offroad pages and everything... so worse case if you end up with the 7 inch buy a new jt 8.4 mopar u connect and it is plug and play work great around 1200 bucks...plus you can sell the 7 inch for 500 or 600 bucks.

Do you have info on this? I have seen the used/refurbed ones. Did you buy it direct from Mopar? Do you have a part numbers for the screen and bezel that you used?

I have the 7 and haven’t really been bothered by it. The added screen size would be nice though.I tried looking for that number and couldn’t find it. Also,I thought the head units were vin locked to the vehicle?

just search that part number a few places will pop up .. looks like still around 1200 bucks... only need a unlock code of you buy used .

I believe all of that comes on the 7" as well, at least it seems to in the Mojave.
