2020 sport s with oversized tires. 57k miles. Zero issues with the trans. I did ask last oil change about a trans drain. Dealer didn't want to even quote it but came back at $2300. Seems dealers think this is a no service trans. I suspect a drain and fill would help but i.would guess that would void the warranty. So I would recommend give them the truck. Get a loaner and see what they say
Yeah, that $2300 quote is a "go away" price. They did not even bother to look it up in service data and give a realistic quote which would be 2 hours or less plus fluid and filter cost.

If that dealership ever changed a transmission outright before, they did the refill procedure

Also, doing a drain and fill if following the service procedure and using the correct ZF licensed spec fluid would not be a void warranty situation either.

I really hate dealerships like you described. Afraid to make money unless it is on their recommendation which usually is some BS most of the time.

Remember on the 2020 the whole pan is throw away. So that adds $400 ish to the job.

No problem in my Gladiator but my 2020 Wrangler had the 3 to 4 jerk and check engine light would come on at times and locked in 3 gear a couple times. Stopped at auto parts store when check engine light came on and got a print out. Made 2 appointments with 2 different dealers, one could check it in a few days where i was working and the other in 3 weeks. The first dealer said they check eveything and nothing was wrong, the transmission fluid was "very dirty" and should be changed for $600. I said don't you think it is dirty because something is wrong with transmission? When the second dealer checked he called with in 15 minutes and said it needed a new transmission, would take 1-2 weeks due to getting transmission and would cost me......
NOTHING!!! Covered under warranty, Jeep has 43000 miles, I love this dealership!

Dealers are hit or miss, I ask at 50K about servicing my transmission. The service writer got a deer in the headlights look and said but its a lifetime fluid. I got the feeling that they were uncomfortable touching the transmission. Second dealer I talked to pushed a lot of aftermarket services and suggested a flush using non original fluid. I ordered the proper parts and did it in my driveway.

*UPDATE*
They’ve had my gladiator for 6 days and they called and said I need an entirely new transmission and driveshaft AND cooling tubes.
No time limit given on how long it would take. ?‍??‍??‍??‍??‍??‍?

Is this the ETA ‘up in the air’ from your service advisor? You can walk over to the Parts Department and the employee there can see on his system how many transmissions are in transport going out to different States and how many are going to Canada. He can even find one at other dealerships in his area and across the Nation.

If you still get the IDK 🤷🏼 answer, pick up the phone and call other parts departments with you VIN # and find yourself a transmission and other stuff and have your dealership arrange to transport it over.

I’ve had to do this several times for me and others.

Is customer service that bad at dealerships?
I expect them to do everything in their power to get the truck fixed and back to it's owner.

That's what I would do if I worked there.

*UPDATE*
They’ve had my truck 10 days now. I called them - again - because, well, they hadn’t called me.
Transmission had to be ordered. No timeline. Asked for a loaner. They don’t do that. Told them my lease is up in 4 weeks and they said I won’t see my truck by then… ooook!!
I just filed a claim through Chrystler. I want SOME kind of reimbursement or SOMETHING.
I was going to purchase this at the end of my lease. That was always my plan. Now? Not so sure.
Waiting to hear back from Chrystler.
This is nuts.

Good news is that it should be covered under warranty. Bad news is that's a lot of parts and supply sucks. Wishing you good luck with the shop getting the parts soon.

Call the rep that is dealing with your warranty work. Not the one at the dealership, but the one at Jeep. They will not make any concessions until the work is complete. The loaner program is crap because it is less than $100 per day for only a certain number of days, I forgot how many. I owned my Gladiator when they replaced my transmission. I also had a bunch of other warranty issues. In the end they gave me their MaxCare Extended Warranty that expires at 110,000 miles. Be persistent, but be nice to the rep. I vented my frustrations, but I was always nice to the rep. Good Luck
