If this is the case I guess I wont be buying a JT. As there is no way Im waiting another year.
I thought we already had people state they saw diesel power plant mules in the wild, filling up at the gas station, dpf filler visible, etc., etc.?

So for the Sport we are getting non widetrac/locked Rubicon axles? Interesting choice but I am not complaining. Looks like I am getting a 3.6 as I am not waiting another year either. Thanks for the info Jay!

Does sports bar padded mean it will look more like the JK? The painted sports bar on the JL look so much gooder.

Our discussion made fourwheeler.com hahaha

but some forum members have suggested it could be a single pane of glass that retracts electrically into the rear bulkhead. Such a feature would make removing the hardtop easier and give the Jeep greater ventilation and clearance for hauling long objects.

The JL one is padded too. Just uses fancier pads than the older style roll bar covers. Based on the CAD I would wager that it'll be of the same design as the JL's.

If they don't bring the diesel it's a complete failure and they
Still no confirmation that there will be a 2-door JT. Definitely not at launch as none have been built for testing yet. IF they do come out with a 2-door it would not be surprising if they waited until 2021 model year. This is just speculation on my part.

Also, I have been told that (so far) all the JT test mules out there have the 3.6L engine, and that none have the diesel. This would seem to imply that we will not see the diesel at launch as they would usually want to be testing 6-8 months ahead of launch. Based on this, we may not see the diesel during the first model year, but not ruling it out just yet.

Will keep everyone posted as we learn more :like:
B as in B... S as in S. I am not shocked because of their history of being lazy. They've been saying all this time... oh, CRD available, best mpg, torque and range of any truck in history. OMG we're the freakin' best, nobody can compete with us. I'll be super pissed if they don't come out with the diesel at launch and we have to wait another 6+ months. They NEED TO GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER!!!! Maybe if they quit trying to refresh the cherokee or the compass they would have time to finish the truck they've been talking about for 10 years.

Sounds like someone is feeding Jay a line...we have forum members that have personally seen and heard JT diesel mules out in public being tested.

But I agree with above sentiments. We are approaching 1 year post JL launch and no Diesel engine. If JT launches without the Diesel that's a BIG miss.

Come on FCA. You've been dangling this carrot for years. Time to step up and deliver on your promises.

Approximate 5'-6' flat bed
So, what do we mean when we say "flat bed" here anyway? Obviously the mules have a full bed, when I think "flat bed" I think... just that. I'd be intrigued if they offered it with different bed options... that's how you do it when building out a Landcruiser 70 in Australia. Choose your "tray."

Maybe the engineering and integration of the diesel is done, but the certification is taking longer due to the problems of Dieselgate. The authorities no longer trust the car companies to self-certify diesel emissions. The Ram and Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel were held up due to this.

Possibly. The 2019 Ram 1500 still isnt being sold withe the Diesel but it was promised for 2019 and so was the Diesel in the JL. You would think they would be pushing this as hard as possible to get it certified.

Might just mean a flat bed floor with no wheel wells protruding into the bed.

They've been running this engine for years! I admit I am not aware of what goes into certification but it seems silly that that wouldn't have been done ASAP.
