Yeah I must have misquoted you then. For me assuming I go to gupton and hypothetically let’s say they were only offering 7%. Take away the tread lightly to 6% we are only talking 500 something. For me that’s not make or break the what? 50k I’m spending. But I understand from another dealership that’s a huge chunk of change.
Agreed. This forum and the good dealers represented make us spoiled.

$500 is an inconvenience, $3200 is a set of wheels and 37’s. ?

Yeah my discount was $522 lol. I thought it was off MSRP so when you asked that I was like, “you can’t be that bad at math???” ???

According to the spreadsheet in the ordering sticky (which I have to assume was accurate when it was maintained), MSRP to invoice is ~5% for trim level, and ~10% for options. It varies slightly, but very slightly. So you'd deduct 5% off MSRP, then 1% from the remainder. Again, there's a tilde there, so actual dollar monies will vary slightly.

Take it from me. I sold my '20 ZR2 Bison diesel with <8k miles due to quality issues. Three steering wheels, two infotainment systems, and the straw that broke my back was the engine burning multiple quarts of oil at a go.
Three steering wheels!? I know any vehicle can be a bad experience and in general I try not to do "Fords/Chevys/Rams are trash" type comments because they've all produced lemons, but three steering wheels is wild :)

Lol - I agree with what @Jglad15 said though - as long as you go to a volume dealer it will be $500-$600, but those attempting to wheel and deal with local dealers will be in an even bigger pickle trying to even get invoice.
This. Same with TrueCar. There are great dealers where this will mean a 1% impact, and there are terrible dealers forum members will never buy from anyways, but for dealers in the middle that want MSRP but will honor the TL pricing (or TrueCar or Costco, etc.) this is a loss.

Isn't there a larger base price delta from invoice to MSRP for upper trims? I thought that was the case since it made a Gupton (or TriCity, etc.) Rubicon/Mojave relatively cheaper versus a Sport than it was at an MSRP dealer, but it's possible I'm mistaken.

Please be a 4xe option for the JT........I will need the tax credit next year (YES, I know taxes and what a credit is)

My dealer told me Gecko Green is gone now too

My order on Friday did not process.....so now I have to wait for a '22, damn, such a rough life LOL
Well it was definitely strange to read that your dealer told you that you could put in an order.

I would imagine so. I know FCA didnt pay 61k for the sum of all my parts for my JTRD, doubt there is 10k in parts between a rubi/mojave and a base.

I stopped being lazy and checked the sheet :) Yes, there is a dramatic difference in MSRP-to-invoice spread across trims. It's about 1.5% in a vanilla Sport and just shy of 5% in a Mojave. That makes an 'under invoice' Mojave (or Rubicon) substantially more discounted relative to MSRP than a Sport.

Another way to look at it would be a zero option Rubicon costs $45,490 at MSRP and a zero option Sport costs $35,210, for a difference of $10,280 for someone paying sticker. The same buyer on a 1% below invoice Tread Lightly price would see pricing of $43,081 vs $34,283 for a difference of $8,798. Not a gigantic difference but relatively speaking the Rubicon gets $1,500 cheaper relative to the Sport in this example.

This makes sense. I know I tried pricing out a Willys and it didn’t make sense vs a Rubicon due to the price being so close once discounted.

Post-strike catchup rushing led to lack of QC. The padding under the leather was all bunched up right under the meat of my thumb on the first, and the trim was wonky. It was like the button pad was pushed into the trim.

Second wheel had the same problems, but in different places.

Third wheel STILL had the same problems, but not as bad. To be fair, the dealership service department agreed it was a fit and finish issue rather than trying to pretend that it wasn't an issue like most dealers would. I'm pretty sure each wheel came from the same batch sloppily assembled by the same person.

I bought the Bison because I've had the most positive experiences with Chevrolets in the past. These were all much older vehicles though. Also positive experiences with AEV. Which reminds me...

I also had to have the bumper refit, because it came from AEV badly askew. The gap from the top of the bumper on one side was about 1/3" (less than a finger width), and on the side well over an inch (fully two fingers). That involved grinding away the mounting hole in the frame that was drilled in the wrong place...

QC nightmare. I put on a grin, and dealt with it figuring it would be everything promised once the issues were ironed out. The engine guzzling oil and the subsequent refusal to fix it broke me. BEST case scenario, it only burned through a quart or so between oil changes long term. It pissed me off pretty royally to have to carry multiple quarts of oil in my brand new >$50K truck.

When I was shopping for that truck (end of '19), I looked hard at the JT, Bison, and Tacoma. The Tacoma was insultingly bad. I wanted one for years (ever since seeing the Top Gear episode). I was shocked, and actually insulted as an educated car buyer. The Colorado was the best on paper, and the DSSV shocks made it feel as controlled as my old BMW with all the sporty options; incredible. The Gladiator was the best designed and put together for someone who actually likes cars, works on them, and wants to use it for what it's intended for. It started out a bit of a curiosity (I hadn't seen one on the road yet at that point), and I was genuinely impressed. Might have even bought one if the dealers weren't so shitty.

Oh. Good point (and it's been discussed a bit above). I was only looking at the Rubicon. The others aren't on my radar really.

This the exact same thing that happened to me. The Rubicon ended up being around $2,000 more than the Willys I had built out after the discounts and incentives.
