I looked at the Far Out Wrangler Rubicon a few months back and might pick one up but not for $70k.

We will see how long this takes order placed today- I’m betting October for delivery ??‍♂
For those that are making comments on the fuel pump- it would make sense that the new pumps are being implemented on the assembly line, if the Jeep went through a couple months ago before the parts were available, would need to go back through.

We have 22k miles on our 2022, edt added to every tank and knock on wood it’s been fine, also fine for the 300k miles on tdi’s using the same pump design.

For the price tag? Rubicon diesel with the options we wanted has been around 71-73k out the door for the last year. ??‍♂. This isn’t a sport or a sport s…. Heard of a few unicorn purchases of diesel gladiator rubicons…. Never met anyone outside of off the keyboard who actually paid one of these unicorn $55k unicorn fully loaded gladiators. ?

That’s cool…. If they bring in an engine without cooling issues, I might trade in my torque queen.

So, they are offering a new package with the diesel when thousands of people are waiting on parts to fix their already purchased diesels? Seems about right.
It's basically a graphics package but point taken. It's a poorly conceived send off when there are so many broken one's out there. Long live the pentastar

I’d love a diesel, but if there’s ever been a V diesel that was any good, I’ve yet to see it.
I’m not a huge diesel guy, but when I have bought them, the vees were always down the list in longevity and up in silly problems.

Not a huge v6 petrol fan come to think of it. Oh for the days of the i6
I agree with you 100%. I am a huge diesel fan and an ASE certified mechanic. I passed on the diesel due to the stop sale but I’m glad I did because after wrenching on one it’s definitely no 7.3 powerstroke or Cummins. I can’t see paying big truck money if the engine won’t go 300k plus like a full-size pickup would.

Maybe this is a sign they actually have the fuel pump fix FINALLY.
Does this mean the next powerplant is ready for production?
Hope it's the I-6TT w/ a hybrid option.
They apparently have it ready. August 17th is the day according to the advisor I just spoke with at Jeep Wave. She didn't know what the fix was but that on August 17th, dealers can start ordering parts and working on them.

I don’t think any hybrid will ever be able to compete with Diesel fuel economy. They’re discontinuing their most fuel efficient and eco-friendly engine.
I'm seeing reports that the new Tacoma hybrid will knock down 27mpg. ?

Like I said, the advisor didn't know what the fix is, so no, no idea on the fix.

Wonder what the benefit was of this super complex V engine vs a 4 or 5 cyl diesel? Too tall? Certainly not balance.

The v is super duper quiet though for a diesel.
